Africa
Ijahman Levi Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

There's a land that's been written up in many a songs
Far in the east, and it's my place of rest
Take a look at the map of the world
You will see I and I place by far
Culture bless, is rare [?]
Please know yourself

Oh oh oh Rastafari
Do you remember the time pass by how we sail the river Nile?
Sat in the sun, with our golden locks and smiles
Up up up and away we go

The green herbs are always there in the valley
While dancers blessed in braids and sing [?]
Let us all sing in one harmony
And give thanks and praise to the most high God and King

Africa, Africa, Africa, oh
Africa for I
Africa, oh
Africa for I and I
I and I, I and I, in Africa

There's a land that's been written up in many a songs
Far in the east, and it's my place of rest
Take a look at the map of the world
You will see I & I place by far
Culture bless, is rare [?]
Please know yourself

Oh oh oh Africa
Open the gate, let us relate, I'm a true born Rasta man
On a mission I was sent to tell it to the children
Lets all live, enlightened to build our roots and culture [?]

The green herbs are always there in the valley
While dancers blessed in braids and sing [?]
Let us all sing in one harmony
And give thanks and praise to the most high God and King

Africa, Africa...

Africa
Ijahman Levi
Afrique, Afrique, Afrique, oh
L’Afrique pour I
L’Afrique, oh
L’Afrique, l’Afrique...

Tony357ish, we share the dream, rasta. That has been my prayer too. Sutherland is a spiritual icon in the reggae world of cool roots.... Am away from home but will be there whenever he happens to be there. Him and Prophet Teacher Joseph Hill and the CULTURE kept my spirit on the road. Will be visiting Joseph's burial site sometime next year. Big up all East African rastas.......
