From the ashes of a previous group which already involved Petrini and Caprai, a new musical artistic laboratory was born: its main purpose has been since the beginning the rediscovery of the 70’s Progressive Rock through the sometimes maniacal search of old vinyl records and it opened up a prosperous and creative season that restored the right dignity of texts and musical arrangements.
After several turnovers of staff (various guitar and keyboard players have come and gone) in 2003 EVA MORELLI (traverso Flute, Contralto Sax, Piccolo) and SIMONE BROZZETTI (guitar) joined the band (he brought the group a definitely Rock Blues sound and a more instinctive and biting style compared to the previous guitar plyers).
After a year and a half of intense work BDM decided to rearrange the pieces under construction and started recording in April 2004. In June the project became real and it came to completion with the making of the first record, the homonymous “IL BACIO DELLA MEDUSA”.
In December 2004 BDM participates and wins the musical contest “ROCK’IN CENTRO” in Perugia: so the band will take part in the European event CLASS’ Eu ROCK 'Festival (with many European bands) in December 2005 in Aix-en-Provence (France).
With much surprise BDM get a hot reception from the French public!
In January 2005 DANIELE RINCHI officially joined the band: with his violin he gave a great contribution to the restyling of the sound of the band; the sound experienced a further evolution thanks to the introduction of new instruments such as Petrini’s organ .
The collaboration with the BLACK WIDOW RECORDS represents the very turning point for the band; the famous Genoese label, renown among prog aficionados, has been distributing the first record of the band starting from may 2005.
From September 2005 the group started working on a new concept album called “DISCESA AGL’INFERI D’UN GIOVANE AMANTE” which has been issued only in May 2006. During those months the group continued promoting the old pieces and at the same time they started testing new pieces revisiting their live performances.
After finishing the album recordings in September 2006 “IL BACIO” stipulated a contract with the Black Widow Records for the reprinting of the first work and the production of the new one (LP-CD).
Currently, BDM works in view of a series of concerts presenting live the concept “Discesa agl’inferi d’un giovane amante” and has planned the recording of the DVD "BDM Live" in Genoa.

The lyrics of Il Bacio della Medusa's song Melencolia speak of the yearning for something that seems forever out of reach. The singer longs for answers, for meaning, for resolution, but continues to be denied. The opening lines evoke an image of a sunrise in the East, which is a symbol of hope and rebirth. However, this hope is deceptive and fleeting, as it is built on the false glory of temples that manipulate and deceive. The libeccio wind symbolizes the unpredictable nature of life, leading us on a journey that can never be fully trusted or controlled. The singer reflects on his past, wondering why a gypsy did not read his palm and warn him of the path he was taking. He is haunted by memories of his youth, of his sexual exploits and encounters with courtesans, which he never found satisfying. He longs for something deeper, something more meaningful, but is unable to find it. He is disillusioned and lost, and when he thought he had found love, it was taken away from him in a cruel and violent way.
