Lifelon… Read Full Bio ↴Ill Spector is an alternative band from Franklin, Tennessee.
Lifelong friends and high school students Liam Cauley (vocals), Max Colbert (lead guitar), Zephan Bean (bass), Brenna Kassis (vocals) and Zack Lockwood (drums) pull their influences from a diverse pool touching on folk, indie, post-punk, and surf, among others.
Their sound is eclectic and varied, but remains anchored by Kassis and Cauley’s floating, intertwining vocal melodies over a carefully-constructed music groundwork. Ill Spector recorded and released their first single, “Honey”, in March of 2017.

There's places I can't see
Without you
I'm weary already
But I know
I'll be okay
Like you say
Unconscious, I'll leave it
The days will pass
But then on occasion
I'll catch it still fading
And then I'll see
No, it's not so simple
It's broken, it's dreadful
The way I lost
If you saw me falter
Lose balance, lose color
How could you stay
Untouched, uninfected
You live resurrected
The purest youth
As I live corrupted
My chance taken, tarnished
And in-between
Breathe me, bleed me
Oh my holy ground
I've seen nothing else
But just as well
You're all I need
Breathe me, bleed me
Oh my holy ground
I've seen nothing else
But just as well
You're all I need
The lyrics to Ill Spector's "Holy Ground" seem to be about someone who feels lost and incomplete without the presence of someone else. The singer is describing spaces and places that are empty and invisible without this person. They admit to feeling worn down and weary, but still believe that they will be okay as long as they have the support of the person they're addressing.
The singer is willing to leave some things unconscious, believing that it's painless and that the days will pass, but there are still moments when they're hit with the pain of their loss. They acknowledge that the situation isn't simple and that they're broken and corrupt. They're aware that the person they're addressing is uninfected and pristine, while they feel tarnished and corrupted. The singer seems to be expressing their deep need for this person, and they see them as their salvation and the only thing that they need.
Overall, the song captures the feeling of longing and incompleteness that can come with losing someone important. The singer seems to be grappling with their own sense of guilt and shame, while also expressing the depth of their need for the person they're addressing.
