Warriors
Imagine Dragons [ft. Riot Games] Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

As a child you would wait
And watch from far away
But you always knew that you'd be the one
That work while they all play

In youth you'd lay
Awake at night and scheme
Of all the things that you would change
But it was just a dream!

Here we are, don't turn away now,
We are the warriors that built this town
Here we are, don't turn away now
We are the warriors that built this town
From dust.

Will come
When you'll have to rise
Above the best and prove yourself
Your spirit never dies!

Farewell, I've gone to take my throne above
But don't weep for me
'Cause this will be
The labor of my love

Here we are, don't turn away now
We are the warriors that built this town
Here we are, don't turn away now,
We are the warriors that built this town
From dust.

Here we are, don't turn away now
We are the warriors that built this town
Here we are, don't turn away now

We are the warriors that built this town
From dust

Overall Meaning

The song "Warriors" by Imagine Dragons ft. Riot Games is an inspiring and motivational track about perseverance, hard work, and rising above adversity. In the first stanza, the lyrics describe the struggle of a person who, as a child, would watch from afar and dream of achieving great things, knowing that they would have to work hard to reach their goals. The second verse highlights the challenges that the person faced in their youth, and how they had to stay up at night and make plans to achieve their dreams despite the obstacles in their way.

The chorus of the song is a rallying cry for all those who have worked hard to achieve their dreams and build something out of nothing. The "we" in the lyrics refers to all the people who have faced challenges and overcome them to become warriors. The phrase "from dust" implies that these warriors have built something out of nothing, and their hard work and perseverance have enabled them to create something great.

The bridge of the song is a nod to the fact that nothing great is achieved without sacrifice. The singer of the song says that they have to leave and take their throne above, but they ask that their loved ones don't weep for them because their labor of love will live on.

The song as a whole is a powerful anthem about determination and resilience. It is a reminder to all those facing adversity that anything is possible if you work hard and don't give up.

You know, after all this time I still come back to this every now and again. It's still imo the best World's video Riot has made, and I don't just mean in terms of the song. This one captures the spirit of competition like no other. The others are about pros competing against each other, this one feels more relatable, it's a bunch of average joes that go from amateur to pro. The story in this MV is just unparred, it captures the struggle, the up and downs of competing. It's honestly such a moving and inspiring MV.

Same... Chills every time.

@deniss6654

I completely agree. Riots focused too much on eSports players instead of highlighting regular players.
