The band went under this name until 1994 when they finally changed their name to In-Quest. The band released two albums in the late 90's, Extrusion:Battlehymns which was released in 1997, and Operation:Citadel which was released in 1999. It would take 4 years before they released new material. They had also brought in Sven De Caluwe as a vocalist, and they would release two albums with him as vocalist, Destination:Pyroclasm and Epileptic. De Caluwe would soon leave due to other band obligations, and ended up being replaced by swedish vocalist Miqe Löfberg. They would go on to release follow-up albums The Comatose Quandaries in 2005, and Made Out of Negative Matter in 2009. They have also released a vinyl EP in 2010 named The Liquidation Files. Their most recent album Chapter IIX: The Odyssey of Eternity was released in August of 2013. On February 12th, 2014 the band announced they were splitting up for the time being. The band stated it is a indefinite hiatus.
In-Quest have played at a number of festivals in Belgium and the Netherlands, such as Frostrock, Euroblast, Xmass Festival, Flanders Fields of Death, Arnhem Metal Meeting, and (alongside bands like Slipknot, Fear Factory, Nile, Motörhead, Saxon, and Ensiferum) Graspop Metal Meeting in 2005 (Metal Dome), 2006 (Marquee 1) and 2009 (at Mainstage).[1] Also in 2006, In-Quest opened for Fear Factory, on their "Fifteen Years of Fear" tour. They also supported Nile in 2005 on their EU tour.
Systematic Arhythmetic Hate
In-Quest Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴
Blood flow in reverse in the veins
A rhythmetic despise for life retaliates
Uneven backwards pulse generates
An out of rhythm sequence of anger
Feeding the everlasting raging adrenaline
An out of rhythm sequence of anger
Feeding the raging adrenaline
System overload with hatred
Reprogrammed soul so dark and tainted
System overload with hate
The nightmare has no end
This eternal conflict will never die
This internal instinct will for ever survive
System overload with hatred
Reprogrammed soul so dark and tainted
System overload with hate
The nightmare has no end
Systematic hate
and anger consume the persona in In-Quest's song "Systematic Arhythmetic Hate." The lyrics describe the eruption of hate, which causes the senses to drop and the blood to flow in reverse. These physical symptoms illustrate the intensity of the anger, which is so powerful that it affects the body's natural processes. The hate is described as "a rhythmic despise for life" that generates an uneven, backwards pulse. Thus, the person affected by this hate is out of sync with the natural order of things, and their emotions are chaotic and disorganized.
The anger described is not a short-lived burst of frustration, but an enduring state of mind that is characterized by "everlasting raging adrenaline." The emotions of vengeance and hate merge together, and the person becomes trapped in a cycle of destructive thoughts and feelings. The lyrics suggest that the person's soul has been "reprogrammed" and become "dark and tainted" with this hate. The whole system is on overload as this anger and hatred consume the person, and the nightmare seems to have no end. The conflict between the person's internal instincts and their external reality is ongoing and will never be resolved. Anger becomes not just a fleeting emotion, but a system of hatred that defines the person's life.
