Their debut album Your World on Fire was released January 6th 2009. Their second album, Imperial was released on June 15, 2010.
In Fear and Faith was founded in 2006 by members Noah Slifka, Mehdi Niroomand, Tyler McElhaney, Jarred DeArmas, and Ramin Niroomand. A year after recording their self-titled demo, founding vocalist Jarred DeArmas left the group and Tyler "Telle" Smith was employed as the band's clean vocalist along with Cody Anderson as the band's unclean vocalist. They replaced guitarist Davey Owens with Noah Slifka while keyboardist, Michael Guy left the band completely without a member in his replacement. With this line-up, they recorded their second EP, Voyage and released it via iTunes on December 17, 2007. Met with positive acclaim, the EP attracted the attention of Rise Records, which they were signed to the following year.

The Solitary Life
In Fear and Faith Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I’m failing my family,
Becoming a tragedy!
You cant stop this by any means!
I wont give an apology!
So watch me build tolerance!
I don’t need any deliverance!
It’s all in my head.
We’ve already lost a significant amount of time,
You know I couldn’t fake this if I tried.
(I couldn’t fake this if I tried!)
I realize that the single life, is not the average alibi!
We’ve all been ready for the lonely life.
This is tearing me apart!
Maybe it's not for me, maybe someone else should be,
Tearing themselves apart!
Then again maybe I’m right where I’m supposed to be!
They always say that the only way,
Is to promise yourself to stay
(There’s so many of you that come to watch me die)
They always say that we have to be ,
(What they’re waiting for?)
But you’re letting it all go by.
We’ve already lost a significant amount of time,
You know I couldn’t fake this if I tried.
(I couldn’t fake this if I tried!)
I realize that the single life, is not the average alibi!
We’ve all been ready for the lonely life.
(Watch me, don’t follow me!)
Our lives have been running out,
And we’re fine with where we’re heading now.
It's running out!
The lyrics of In Fear and Faith’s song The Solitary Life speak to the experience of feeling lost and unsure in life, unable to find a clear path forward. The singer declares that they are failing their family and becoming a tragedy, but refuses to apologize for who they are. They assert their independence and determination to build tolerance and withstand the challenges of life on their own terms. The second verse acknowledges the difficulty of the journey, with the chorus emphasizing the loneliness and isolation that often come with carving out a unique path. The singer questions whether they are on the right path or whether someone else should bear the burden of tearing themselves apart, before ultimately embracing their chosen path.
The opening lyrics of the song, “Watch me, don’t follow me!” reflect the theme of independence and individualism that runs throughout the song. The singer is determined to live life on their own terms, even if it means being an outsider. The repetition of the phrase “I couldn’t fake this if I tried” highlights the difficulty of the singer’s journey and emphasizes their honesty and authenticity. The lines “We’ve already lost a significant amount of time / You know I couldn’t fake this if I tried” suggest that the singer is aware of the expectations others have for them, but is determined to stay true to themselves. The chorus of the song emphasizes the loneliness and isolation that often come with choosing an unconventional path, but also suggests a sense of camaraderie among those who have made similar choices.
Overall, The Solitary Life is a song about individualism, determination, and the difficulties of choosing a path that diverges from the expectations of others. The singer is determined to live life on their own terms, even if it means facing challenges and isolation along the way.
