2. Not only this Smooth Jazz band shares same band name, they have a song called "Millenium"(2006) that is exactly same title (intentionally misspelled) as the other Incognito's (Jazz Funk) song on their album "100° and Rising"(1995), plus the logo resembles in font. The title "Every Day"(2006) on the album Street Smarts exactly alike in titles (when read) with the other Incognito's famous tune "Everyday"(1995). They are often tagged totec radio. Also mis-tagged by fans as bluey where there's no link to Jean-Paul "Bluey" Maunick himself. r00ts & t4lk1n l0ud tags also used, that could mislead fans to the Bluey's famous tunes like "Roots" & "Talkin' Loud".

Bring You Down
Incognito Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Who's got freedom, freedom of mind
But what they sure as hell can do
Is to put you in the grave
'Cause they know you've got freedom of mind
We need to be awaken to the new reality
Keep the fires burning in our souls
That we need to leave behind
To keep the freedom of mind
Gonna bring you down
People bring you down
Gonna bring you down
Down, down, down
Gonna bring you down
If you don't stand your ground
Gonna bring you down
Down, down, down
Damn it's a shame to work your fingers to the bone
To barely, barely make a living
And you wake up early mornings
Don't come home 'till late
It's a struggle
In a jungle, jungle, jungle
We all need to be awaken to the new reality
Keep the fires burning in our souls
There are stages in our lives
We need to leave behind
To keep the freedom of the mind
The lyrics to "Bring You Down" by Incognito are about the importance of preserving one's freedom of mind in the face of societal pressures and limitations. The opening lines declare that no one can physically enslave someone who possesses this freedom, but they can still put them in the grave because they know the person will resist control. The song then calls for listeners to awaken to a new reality and keep the fires of passion burning in their souls to resist these forces that seek to oppress them. The chorus repeats the phrase "Gonna bring you down" in reference to those who would try to control or dampen their spirits.
The second verse specifically focuses on the struggle of work and survival in a world where disadvantage and hardship are all too common. The lyrics highlight the harsh realities of working hard and barely making a living, waking up early only to return home late at night, and facing the trials and tribulations of life in a "jungle." However, the song emphasizes again the importance of maintaining one's freedom of mind and leaving behind stages of life that hold them back.
The overall message of the song is to inspire listeners to keep striving for their personal freedom and to resist the forces that would bring them down. It encourages listeners to embrace their individuality, to stand their ground and defend their freedom of thought, and to remain passionate and hopeful in spite of the struggles and hardships they may face.
