2. Not only this Smooth Jazz band shares same band name, they have a song called "Millenium"(2006) that is exactly same title (intentionally misspelled) as the other Incognito's (Jazz Funk) song on their album "100° and Rising"(1995), plus the logo resembles in font. The title "Every Day"(2006) on the album Street Smarts exactly alike in titles (when read) with the other Incognito's famous tune "Everyday"(1995). They are often tagged totec radio. Also mis-tagged by fans as bluey where there's no link to Jean-Paul "Bluey" Maunick himself. r00ts & t4lk1n l0ud tags also used, that could mislead fans to the Bluey's famous tunes like "Roots" & "Talkin' Loud".

I Remember A Time
Incognito Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Looking out over the distant sea
I wonder how the winding roads that brought me here
Is simply gone and disappeared
Have been caught up in a selfish game
Now I see my rise and fall
I remember a time
I remember a time
When I held it on together
Is it me who's rushing by
Or it's time just standing still
Would someone please reach out and help me find
Pieces of my shallow dreams
Need for shelter of the trees
Trying to find some comfort
From the madness of the new day sound
I've got to stop these thoughts
That are rolling through my head
For time...? out into tears
I came out here just to get away
Only to see my rise and fall
I remember a time
I could see forever
I remember a time
When I held it on together
Is it me who's rushing by
Or it's time just standing still
Would someone please reach out and help me find
Pieces of my shallow dreams
The lyrics to Incognito's "I Remember A Time" articulate feelings of introspection, isolation, and longing for the past that is no more. The singer of the song is sitting on a hill, gazing at the sea, and reminiscing about the winding roads that brought them here. These roads, the singer notes, have disappeared, leaving them caught up in a selfish game. The lines "now I see my rise and fall" suggest a sense of regret and loss, as if the singer has reached a point in their life where they see both the successes and the failures that brought them here.
The chorus of the song emphasizes the theme of nostalgia, with the singer remembering a time when they could "see forever" and "hold it all together." These lines suggest a sense of hope and possibility that the singer no longer feels. It is not clear what has led to this change in perspective, but it may be related to the "madness of the new day sound" that the singer seeks to escape.
In the final stanza, the singer longs for a return to simpler times, symbolized by the need for shelter under the trees. The lines "I've got to stop these thoughts that are rolling through my head, for time...? out into tears" suggest that the nostalgia and longing for the past are becoming overwhelming. Even the act of coming to the hill to escape has not helped, as the singer sees their own rise and fall. The song ends with a plea for help in finding pieces of their shallow dreams.
