Special Place
Infected Mushroom Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Turning back, turning back
To my special place
Give it up, give it up
All the fears we share

Turning back, turning back
To my special place
Give it up, give it up
All the fears we share
And I just don't care
All the fears we share
And I just don't care

Bring it up, bring it up
Don't take me down
Bring it up, bring it up (x9)

Turning back, turning back
To my special place
Give it up, give it up
All the fears we share

Turning back, turning back
To my special place
Give it up, give it up
All the fears we share
And I just don't care
All the fears we share
And I just don't care
All the fears we share
And I just don't care

All the fears we share
And I just don't care

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Infected Mushroom's "Special Place" convey a sense of returning to a safe and comfortable space, away from all of life's fears and troubles. The repetition of "Turning back, turning back, to my special place" emphasizes the desire to retreat to this place of comfort. The line "give it up, give it up, all the fears we share" could be interpreted as a call to relinquish one's fears or perhaps even to share them with others. There is a sense of defiance in the line "And I just don't care", as if to say that no matter what happens, the singer will not be taken down from their special place. The repeated refrain of "bring it up, bring it up" feels like a rallying cry or a call to action.

Overall, the song seems to be about finding solace and strength in a personal refuge, whether it be a physical place or a state of mind. The lyrics implore the listener to let go of their anxieties and return to their own special place, where they can find peace and courage.

This was the apex album for me personally… I’ve listened to infected since middle school in 2000… so now 23 years later…. Still vicious delicious was the apex when I was graduating high school. Nothing beats this. Now I’m 34 and feel old, but this makes me feel like a teenager always

@lutie5825

Mehdi Khoddami yes it is the best of their albums, i think it is the best of all psytrance composers

@MEHDIZed3D

Absolutely is

@schimmligerveganer2065

Yeah it's an absolute beast. Wish they made another album in this style. Other psytrance producers don't even get close to this

@LordOfBrownies

I love this album, but I'd give the first place to Converting Vegetarians II. These two albums are amazing (not counting purely trance albums)

@moistavocado2350

Personally my favorite is Return to the Sauce but honestly everything they've made is flawless.
