Invisible
Intruder Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I scream but no one hears me.
I hurt but no one seems to give a fuck.
Can no one break the silence?
Is it my destiny to self destruct?

The onslaught of silence chews in my brain.
Your lack of emotions drives me insane.
I'm not invisible. I'm not invisible.

I stare into the fire.
The smell of burning flesh fills the air.
The sounds of sirens screaming.
Destruction - the opiate of my despair.

The onslaught of silence chews in my brain.
Your lack of emotions drives me insane.
I'm not invisible. I'm not invisible.

Warning sent through the airwaves.
Searching for the one their silence drove insane.

Bringer of mass destruction.
Invisible, a specter with no face or name.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Intruder's song "Invisible" express the frustration and desperation of feeling unheard and unseen. The opening lines, "I scream but no one hears me. I hurt but no one seems to give a fuck," capture the sense of isolation and abandonment that is a central theme throughout the song. The singer is struggling with the silence and lack of empathy from those around them, leading to self-destructive thoughts and actions. The phrase "onslaught of silence" is particularly evocative, conjuring an image of a relentless, crushing force that is wearing the singer down.

As the song progresses, we see the singer turning to destructive behavior as a means of coping with their pain. The lines "I stare into the fire. The smell of burning flesh fills the air. The sounds of sirens screaming. Destruction - the opiate of my despair" paint a vivid picture of someone who has reached a breaking point and is lashing out in a desperate attempt to feel some sense of control or release.

The final lines of the song, "Warning sent through the airwaves. Searching for the one their silence drove insane. Bringer of mass destruction. Invisible, a specter with no face or name," suggest that the singer has become something to be feared, a symbol of the violent consequences that can result from ignoring or mistreating someone who is struggling.

Overall, "Invisible" is a powerful and haunting exploration of the toll that isolation and neglect can take on a person. The lyrics convey a sense of deep pain and desperation that is all too relatable, and the use of vivid imagery and metaphors makes the song even more impactful.

@Christine Fougere first of all who says the cut screen is even related? you walk down the street and check every screen in every house and your likely to find 2 or 3 cut screens. It's not uncommon, 2nd of all as I mentioned, he could have come in a different way, noticed the screen and decided to exit that way, got a knife, and cut it from the inside, put the knife back and got the butcher knife, things didn't go as planned and he had to make a hasty exit.

What sort of DNA was he supposed to leave on Darlie or the boys? was he supposed to comb his hair or trim his nails and leave the trimmings on them? he was a well prepared intruder, he used their household objects (sock, knife etc..) because it had the family members DNA on it and not his, probably had a latex glove over his hand as well.

let me tell you something about mothers protecting their young, and let me know if I need finger puppets to explain this to you. Mothers of any animal species are going to be far more difficult to handle then their 2 young defenseless children and she would have likely been more then he could handle so he slashed her once and turned and ran off. How is that to hard to understand?

It was a house hold sock it could be any number of reasons her DNA would be in the sock. She could be playing sock puppets with the boys, goofing around which coincides with a slumber party, she could have folded the socks from the inside ( a popular way of folding the socks).

Where are his bloody footprints leaving the house?.... where does he get gut? the boys couldn't do it, Darlie doesn't have a knife or anything to cut him with..

All children deserve parents but not all parents deserve children. So sad.

Fire Tiger Sage

@Dave Moss here's some Zen for you: when you don't have something positive or helpful to say, keep quiet.

@Fire Tiger Sage Definitely agree. My parents weren't as bad but they definitely weren't born to be parents. Poor kids.

Kurt Morris

I thought that was a clever the first time I heard that, but after every time a child has been wronged and someone puts that down it gets a bit old.

Fire Tiger Sage

@Kurt Morris it's the message that matters, not how fresh it is
