True Miserable Experience
Iron Chic Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

We were singing "Hey Jealousy"
We drove through town
And let the cops chase us around
The kind of day
We only get once in our lives
We were bursting with energy
All the weight in the world couldn't keep us down
Never let up
Never let them get us alive

We're not lookin' for sympathy
In fact, we're all out of fucks to give
And we'll just be indifferently
Waiting here for the tide to shift
We were crushing our enemies
Took all the pain in the world
And made a crown

Waiting here for the world to disappear

If I know one thing
It's how to waste my time
If you've taught me anything
It's not to waste my life
We're here right now
That's all that counts
So it goes

Made up our minds
To make our mess
And do our best
To not die alone

We're not looking for anything
We're too busy biting feeding hands
I found an epiphany
In the eyes of a dying man

We'll be waiting indifferently
We can wait for eternity

Overall Meaning

The song "True Miserable Experience" by Iron Chic is an anthem for youthful rebellion and a proclamation of living life to the fullest. The first verse talks about driving around town while singing "Hey Jealousy" and letting the cops chase them, feeling an overwhelming burst of energy. The lyrics suggest that this moment is one that they will never forget, and all the weight of the world could not keep them down. They live their lives with a fearless nature, never letting up and never letting the authorities catch them.

The second verse highlights the fact that they are not looking for sympathy, as they are out of "fucks to give." They are indifferent to the opinions of others and are waiting for the tide to shift. They have already crushed their enemies and made a crown out of the pain they endured. The chorus talks about waiting for the world to disappear, living in the moment, and making the most of what they have.

The third verse talks about how they have learned not to waste their lives, and the only thing that matters is the present moment. They have made up their minds to make a mess and do their best not to die alone. They are too busy living and taking bites out of feeding hands to look for anything else. They have found an epiphany in the eyes of a dying man and will wait indifferently for eternity.

Overall, "True Miserable Experience" is a song about living without regrets and seizing the moment. It's about being young and reckless and not caring what others think.

This is a great song.
Theres something about these guys...
I was travelling north of canada when this album dropped. I remember just being isolated (by my own will) and driving for 10 hrs. I discovered a great newer band imo
