He previously was a member of the black metal bands Vanhävd and Vapenlicens, before becoming interested in 80's-influenced film scores.
Irving Force's musical and aesthetic style is influenced by 1980's action films and characters, such as John Carpenter films and his character Snake Plissken. Skog originally intended Irving Force to have a more pop oriented sound, but the music soon took on elements from his metal past.
He also cites cyberpunk science fiction from all types of media and the band Tangerine Dream as further influences. Having come from a film-score background, much of Irving Force's music is designed to have some sort of narrative or story element - such as his 2015 release The Violence Suppressor EP. A video was filmed for the title track on that album, which was made to invoke classic sci-fi and action movies like Assault on Precinct 13 and Judge Dredd. Following releases were set out to take place in a loose thematic universe.
In April 2020, Irving Force provided the soundtrack for the Android retro point & click adventure game Awaken Alone.

@Irving Force Thank you for your kind offer, but I don't have that much in communication skills, or video editing and that means that my Youtube options would be really limited.
Although this made me think that one day I might need to do a video showcase of the minimum viable product, and then I might be interested in a jingle or some music score to add an emotional touch. It'd definitely help to set the project apart if I had some aggressive cyberpunk synthwave instead of the generic "inspiring" muzak that most videos use :P
Oh, and thanks for the music! It's been really inspiring at times.

@Phantom-088-plane guy oh! and I'm sorry for the late reply. I was sure I had replied to you but I see now that I did not... as I said the project has been slowed by a combination of bad luck, work, and the sheer insanity of 2020.

@Irving Force I've have put the project on a standby as the 3D printer I was using cracked its' screen (it's a high detail resin printer) and the spare part took four months to arrive.
Since then I have had a ton of work to do and haven't had time to continue my work on the practical prototype. Which is for the best as I found out the servos I had planned to use weren't up to the task and the ideal ones require a lot of study to get just right (they are specialty microservos from Japan, which are controlled directly in hex code instead of using an abstract programming language... so I'll have to learn that).
In the mean time, I'm studying about myoelectric control systems. The current state-of-the-art prosthetics mostly use these systems to send a binary signal, but I'm sure that it can be modulated so you can get finer control on it. It will also incorporate proximity sensors in each phalanx so the hand will "know" how to position itself around objects to grab them.
With a bit of luck, I'll be able to have a functional prototype by march. After that, I don't know if I'll use it to apply for a job in the prosthetics industry, where I have a lot of ideas that might improve the life of amputees by integrating electronics and sensors into their artificial limbs.
I'll send you photos when the project is in a more advanced stage. Your music has been there when I'm working on thid and other projects, so that's the least I can do!

Thank you! I am definitely working on new music, can't say whether it'll end up being an album or just a whole bunch of singles but I hope to start dropping stuff again soon! I think a remix I did of another artist might be dropping real soon actually.
