Feeling Good
Isak Danielson Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Birds flying high, you know how I feel
Sun in the sky, you know how I feel
Breeze drifting on by, you know how I feel
It's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new life
For me, and I'm feeling good

I feel so good
Dragonfly out in the sun you know what I mean, don't you know?
Butterflies all havin' fun you know what I mean
Sleep in peace when day is done
That's what I mean
And this old world is a new world and a bold world
For me, and I'm feeling good

Stars when you shine, you know how I feel
Scent of the pine, you know how I feel
Oh freedom is mine, and I know how I feel
It's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new life

It's a new dawn, it's a new day

It's a new life, it's a new life
And I'm feeling good

on Ending

why do i listen to this and hear a man in doubt about 2 women? the verse one he use "she" .
"She keeps me from closing my eyes
Keeps me from sleeping at night
Don't let me go"

I'm imagining that its the woman he cheated with keep him awake, that he keep thinking about her. and how she wishes he will never let her go.

that might be the reason why the pre-chorus change to "you" meaning his official partner.
"There came a time
When you were the only one
You were the only one
The only one"

how they try to make the relationship work, how his official partner still believe in him and still trying to hold on. doesn't matter he keep cheating and falling for the other woman.
'Even when I'm falling back
You still bеlieve I tried'

that's where he suggest may be they could live like this, with him going back and forth between 2 woman? that by the end he might finally know how to juggling between them
'Maybe we could be a symphony
And maybe I could learn to play
You could write that story
While I just ride the wave (this could mean he took advantage of the current situation)'

even more on this part, when the other woman want to end this, its him who trying to hold on. that he want to make sure she is fine.
'We're at the end of the line
She keeps me from holding her tight
Trying to make sure she's fine
Don't let me go'

and by that, his official relationship stumbled down again and crushing like all the effort now useless. that finally his official partner now want to end this, that finally she stop waiting for him to decide and want him to let her go.
'We took hundred steps back
How you said "goodbye" was sad
Now when I think of it I...
Please let me go''

It’s a very deep song. That has a powerful message and clearly means something in today’s society. It’s an empowering song, not just in general but for women in violent places in their life. To hear a male artist write and perform such an inspiring sing could genuinely change a lot of lives.
