He makes one of the hardest instruments to learn look like nothing. U can't cheat with the violin, it takes many years to reach that level and most never do no matter how hard they try. His performance was amazing.

For someone who had a schedule like the minister at the peak of his world tours, speaking engagements, and presiding over a large organization, to do this is just unbelievable. It's one of the most difficult and complicated pieces that requires many years of training to master. For him to pull this off with all that responsibility and only 2 yrs of practice is nothing short of a miracle.

I have heard Mendelssohn before...and though some may "complain" I feel and heard the personality and soul...in this Mendelssohn...It was Beautiful....2years of study after putting it down for 40(!)...Minister Farrakhan you ought to never put that instrument down again...whether we hear it or not...there IS something moving there...Thank you for sharing.

to those negative comments...he played and performed this piece brilliantly....yet your critique is he's not a concert soloist.....so what? what makes a concert soloist any better than what he had just done......i would argue playing alone is easier and takes less discipline than playing with a band/orchestra......also you'll find that solo acts prefer performing solo for this exact reason....less restriction............in conclusion he sounded like an expert and looked like an expert up there....what did you really expect him to do during his performance? jump and wiggle like a rock and roll musician! always haters and jealous people around to criticize.....

My brotha is nasty with that violin. I played the cello and Bass growing and this is absolutely amazing. When he takes those pauses you realize the concentration he has to stay on count during his silence. Absolutely amazing and hes playing from memory no sheet music on such a complex piece.
