Cantautore, arriva al successo nel 2004 con "Porta vagnu", un brano easy listening in dialetto siciliano e con sonorità jazz. "Porta vagnu" è anche il titolo del CD (prodotto da Federico Fiorentino) che immediatamente pone Ivan Segreto all'attenzione del pubblico e della critica (l'album e'nominato miglior album di debutto 2004 nella classifica dell' autorevole rivista Musica e Dischi). Dal 2004 apre i concerti di Franco Battiato Nel 2005, confermando la passione per il jazz e lo swing,pubblica "Fidate correnti", prodotto da Marti Jane Robertson.
Nel 2006 partecipa al 56° Festival di Sanremo con il brano "Con un gesto", nella categoria "Giovani". Viene eliminato durante la terza serata.
