Your smile is now so old
I know you want to kill them
I know you want to see me dead
I feel like a jerk
But you'll see it never worked
Your heart is so evil
With you fascination for hate
You killed everything we had
All that's black and ugly
I swear you gave it to me
I am going insane
It's your fault but I'll take the blame
Will they ever understand?
Will they ever take back my hand
Can you deny that I tried everything
Can you deny that I was there
Stop you sweet talk, slow down your anger
I really think you need a doctor
In Iz-O's song "Faces," the lyrics convey a sense of emotional turmoil and the breakdown of a relationship. The opening lines, "My heart's now so cold, Your smile is now so old," suggest a loss of warmth and joy in the relationship. The singer acknowledges that the other person harbors a desire to cause harm and even wishes for their own demise, indicating a toxic and potentially dangerous dynamic.
The chorus, "Your heart is so evil, And your face is like the devil," paints a vivid image of their partner's negative and malevolent demeanor. The following lines highlight the destructive impact of their fascination with hate, as it has ultimately destroyed everything they once had together. The singer feels burdened by the darkness and ugliness that the other person brought into their life.
As the song progresses, a sense of frustration and desperation becomes apparent. The line, "I am going insane, It's your fault but I'll take the blame," captures the internal conflict of holding the other person responsible yet shouldering the blame themselves. The singer questions whether others will ever truly grasp their experience and whether they will find solace or support from those around them.
The final lines of the song, "Can you deny that I tried everything, Can you deny that I was there, Stop your sweet talk, slow down your anger, I really think you need a doctor," express a plea for the other person to acknowledge the efforts made and the presence the singer had in the relationship. By urging them to seek help, it becomes evident that the singer recognizes the partner's need for professional assistance due to their harmful behavior and anger issues.
Overall, "Faces" delves into the intricate complexities of a deteriorating relationship marked by anger, manipulation, and emotional distress. It illustrates the destructive consequences of harboring hatred and the impact it can have on both individuals involved.
