The lyrics to J-Boogie's Dubtronic Science's song "Afros in Ya" are actually the lyrics to the remix of Craig Mack's song "Flava In Ya Ear" featuring various artists like The Notorious B.I.G., Rampage, LL Cool J, and Busta Rhymes. The song starts with a boastful verse where the artist claims to get more attention from women than ashtrays do from cigarette butts. He also talks about his quick methods of getting money and his readiness to resort to violence if necessary. He mocks rappers with gimmicky and weak lyrics and suggests they go back to the drawing board. He also claims that people are jealous of his style and talent, and suggests that they should pursue careers other than hip-hop.
The chorus of the song introduces the idea of a brand new flavor in your ear, referring to the fresh and innovative approach taken by the artists on the remix. They aim to introduce a new sound and style that will captivate listeners and leave a lasting impact. The song continues with verses from different artists, each showcasing their unique skills and lyrical prowess. They discuss their reputation, success in the rap game, and their ability to bring excitement and energy to their performances. The song ends with a call for unity among East Coast artists and a nod to the history of hip-hop.
