Shinhoster went to Miami Northwestern and Edison high schools. He planned to pursue a career in football, until a car accident split a leg bone in half. Then he focused on music. Before gaining major stardom, Shinhoster performed at several urban Miami schools like Brownsville Middle School. He got his first break when another Liberty City talent, Trick Daddy, asked him to sing on his song Hold On. Atlantic Records heard it and asked to hear more. J-Shin was one of three artists signed through Miami label Slip-N-Slide to Atlantic.[1]
Additionally J-Shin released the controversial video "Baby Mama Drama" amid much fanfare and disgust in 2005.

Please Please Tell Me Why
Please Please Tell Me Why
いつからこうなったのか
もう帰る家も無いのか
今の俺たちには
Please Please Tell Me Why
いつからこうなったのか
もう帰る家も無いのか
今の俺たちには
The lyrics of J-Shin's song "Tell Me Why" paints a picture of a bleak and hopeless existence, born and raised in the dark streets with nothing but the dream of soaring into the blue skies once seen. The singer, consumed with anxiety and anticipation, took a chance and moved to this city, finding himself in a grungy station where he learned the sad reality of lies and deception from women with bodies of both truth and falsehood. Throughout the song, he questions when and how things took a turn for the worse, wondering if there's even a home to return to. Though he yearns to reach for the sky he once saw, he is forced to make compromises and trade old promises for financial gain, all the while pondering the person he has become, constantly sharpening a knife's blade instead of soaring as free as his soul desires.
"Tell Me Why" resonates with those struggling to find their place in life or come to terms with a situation they cannot change. The song speaks to the disappointment of dreams left unfulfilled and the harsh realities of a world where the pursuit of money often comes at a heavy price. The line "Please Please Tell Me Why" is a desperate plea for answers to the hardships that the singer and many others face in their daily lives, searching for a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness.
Overall, J-Shin's "Tell Me Why" is a poignant and raw reflection of the struggle and endurance of the human spirit in the face of adversity, reminding us to keep questioning and fighting for our dreams and purpose in life.
