That Time
J.F. Sebastian Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Looking back wondering about that one time
Now I'm stuck thinking about the night time
I'm in a rut nobody on my right side
She was the right girl, just not the right time
Looking back wondering about that one time
Now I'm stuck thinking about the night time
I'm in a rut nobody on my right side
She was the right girl, just not the right time
Let's look back cause it's been a few times
That I had her as mine, now I'm on the sideline
Like I wonder what I coulda done better
Wondering if I should've even met her oh better yet
Like this one girl almost had my kid
And that wasn't the one that lied and fibbed
About The Kid having a kid, like really that was something
Or what about the one that left me for my best friend
I got love for everyone that's ever wronged me
And that's because we're even cause I'd put it on a song he
Told it how it is, and told it how it was
And he handled his biz, and he did it hella numb
Let's have a toast for everyone that's problematic
We're problem's child like PEMDAS, gotta add then subtraction
It's crazy thinking how they all said that they would all be there
Maybe it's because that they knew that he was a dreamer
Looking back wondering about that one time
Now I'm stuck thinking about the night time
I'm in a rut nobody on my right side
She was the right girl, just not the right time
Looking back wondering about that one time
Now I'm stuck thinking about the night time

I'm in a rut nobody on my right side
She was the right girl, just not the right time

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "That Time" by J.F. Sebastian convey a reflective and introspective tone as the singer looks back on past experiences and relationships. The repetition of lines emphasizes the feeling of being stuck in a cycle of reminiscing about a specific moment in the past. The reference to the night time adds a sense of nostalgia and contemplation, suggesting that these thoughts are more intense during moments of solitude or darkness.

The mention of being in a rut and feeling isolated on the right side indicates a sense of loneliness or disconnect from others. The singer acknowledges that the person they were involved with was the right girl, but timing played a crucial role in the relationship not working out. This recognition of missed opportunities and the impact of timing on relationships adds depth to the narrative.

The lyrics further delve into specific instances of heartbreak and betrayal, such as a past relationship where the singer almost had a child with someone who was dishonest or another situation where a partner left them for a close friend. Despite these painful experiences, there is a sense of acceptance and understanding as the singer expresses forgiveness towards those who have wronged them. The act of putting these emotions into a song serves as a cathartic release and a way to process these complex feelings.

The closing lines of the song highlight a sense of resilience and growth, recognizing the challenges and complexities of human relationships. The reference to being a "problem's child" and navigating through difficulties with a mathematical analogy adds a unique perspective to the narrative. Ultimately, the lyrics of "That Time" encapsulate a journey of self-discovery, acceptance of the past, and a hopeful outlook towards the future despite the trials and tribulations faced along the way.

Ana de Armas : bladerunner 2, !COMO ACTRIZ USTED TIENE UN CERO¡, su actuación fue :
- Mala
- Pensó que por interpretar físicamente un estereotipo de "un anime japones" podía llenar el hueco.
- Parece verdaderamente un ser artificial, !pero por su mala actuación¡.
- No tuvo carisma

J.F. Sebastian is one of my favorite characters in the film.  Something about him makes me want to have a lot of sympathy for the character.  I think he was being used almost as much as the replicants were

@PlanetShlorpian

He did nothing but help Roy and Priss and they betrayed and murder him.

SquirrelCake hmm idk. I haven't seen the movie but in the book I feel like he gained the most from the whole situation. He developed as a person and learned about himself and the strength he had inside. He had a spiritual moment and kept his hope.

@Froggen88

Daryl Hannah just earned a lot of my admiration for her professionalism in this scene. I just came here from MSN's top movie bloopers of all time and this was on there. The part she falls into the truck and breaks the glass. It was a real life accident and she had a cut on her arm and was bleeding, but she stayed in character and made it apart of the movie. The director kept it. After they yelled 'Cut; she went to the hospital. that's what you call a tough gal and very professional one.
