Thoughts
J.O.E Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I've got thoughts in my head that won't go away
Got my love, in my bed
But they don't ever seem to change

Thoughts in my head that won't go away
He's got my love in his bed
I guess she's got something good for a change
I've got thoughts in my head that won't go away
Got my love, in my bed
But they don't ever seem to change

Thoughts in my head that won't go away
He's got my love in his bed
I guess she's got something good for a change

Thoughts in my head that won't go away
Got my love, in my bed
But they don't ever seem to change

Thoughts in my head that won't go away

He's got my love in his bed
I guess she's got something good for a change

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of J.O.E.'s song "Thoughts" convey the inner struggles of someone who is having a hard time dealing with recurring thoughts. The first verse reveals the singer's battle to rid themselves of these thoughts, which seem to be plaguing them constantly. Despite having their significant other by their side, they are unable to shake off these thoughts. In the second verse, it is hinted that the significant other is involved with someone else, causing the singer to feel replaced and left out. This only exacerbates their inner turmoil.

The repetition of the chorus emphasizes the singer's frustration and inability to escape their thoughts, as well as their envy towards their partner's new love. The song's melancholy tone and simple production only add to its raw emotional power, evoking a sense of loneliness and hopelessness.

Great video and drawings as always! Last year I was out of balance but I learned some things to get out of my burnout.
1. quit social media for at least 1 month.
2. Stop looking at the news!
3. Breathing excersize (wim hof breathing rounds).
4. Listing to singing bowls while laying on bed.
5. Connect with nature by walks and take a swim (especially the cold waters).
6. And when I felt better, I started to get to my workouts again and feel great now :)

If you feel stressed, maybe this will help

@fortissimoX

Since I feel what you're talking about, I would like to share some suggestions.
Quit watching / listening any so called "news".
Don't watch any depressing movies, tv shows etc.
Is there anybody near you who needs any kind of help? Some elder whom you can bring groceries? Help them.
Pay attention to people you usually don't notice and be kind to them... clerks, sellers, cleaners etc.
Integrate at least some kind of physical activity every day, or /and walk.
Do at least 5min (increase as you get used) meditation every day.
Pay attention to what kind of food you're eating.

I wish you all the best!

I feel like what you said is only half true, the thoughts one has about their own body following an operation and a general physical repair has a direct powerful impact on how well one will recover through every single little choice of action they perform with how they view their life and self.

The docs repaired my leg, but me thinking I am worthy of a healthy leg, worthy of healing, worthy of eating nutritious good food instead of being hard on myself, worthy of experiencing a functioning body again and maintaining the hope that I will heal is directly what healed my knee making me the strong individual I am today.

I kept thinking โ€˜I canโ€™t wait to dance againโ€™ โ€˜Iโ€™m am so strong for this and I am going to be so strong whenever I healโ€™

If I succumbed to negative thoughts it would have a domino effect on all of my actions following the negative declaration. I would have eaten trash, not performed physio, felt worthless and weak, would have given up.

I donโ€™t want anyone to see comments like this one and be discouraged, allow your pain and be compassionate to yourself but maintain your positively angled thoughts and allow the good stuff to flow through your action.

Peace โค๏ธ

๐Ÿ’Š Stress in the body comes from physical trauma, chemical stress (toxins, pollutants), and emotional stress.
๐Ÿ’Š The autonomic nervous system aims to maintain balance and regulation (homeostasis) in the body.

๐Ÿ’Š Prolonged stress disrupts this balance, leading to disease, especially from emotional stress (75-90% of health issues).
๐Ÿ’Š Emotional stress is linked to specific negative emotions like anger, fear, and insecurity.

๐Ÿ’Š Thoughts and emotions can activate the stress response, impacting physical health.
๐Ÿ’Š Chronic emotional patterns can become addictive, keeping individuals in a cycle of negative emotions.

๐Ÿ’Š Changing emotional states, especially through gratitude, can positively affect health by influencing the body's chemical balance.
๐Ÿ’Š Managing attention and emotions is crucial in creating a positive impact on health.

๐Ÿ’Š The mind-body connection is powerful, and thoughts can play a role in both illness and well-being.

So much of the content online is like fast food for the mind - it exploits our impulses. Videos about gossip or drama get us to click, but after the video is over, we've gained nothing in exchange for our most valuable assets - our time and attention. I want After Skool to be resource that is educational, entertaining and when you leave this video you will feel like you have gained something. Be careful where you focus your attention. If you don't have a plan, you become a part of someone else's plan. Anyways, there's my little rant. I hope you enjoyed this video! The miniscule amount of positive content like yours makes it hard to shut down media completely. It's all poison or empty calories. I think what's best for me is to
limit my anger at things I have no control over. Thanks for doing your bit to help us.

I love your videos. If you don't mind me asking, I was wondering what program you use to make them? I have Doodly, but only the basic one. I hope to be upgrading it soon. to be able to make some short videos with it, but more for advertising...as a side gig.

โ€œAs a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives.โ€

That's the perfect way to put it
