Twilight
J.O.S.H. Lyrics

Running through the twilight
Running through the twilight
Running through the twilight
Running thru the twi– (I'll be)
Running through the twilight
Running through the twilight
Running through the twilight
Running through the twilight
Running through the twilight
Snow up on the headlights
Gotta get my head right
Stars appearing in my sight
Running through the twilight
Snow up on the headlights
Gotta get my head right
Stars appearing in my–
I'll be there no matter where I go
Walking through the icy snow
Dreaming high but living low
Set me free so I don't know
On the line, what will I say?
Soaring through that night and day
Locking all my fears away
In this light, I lay
I'll be there no matter where I go
Walking through the icy snow
Dreaming high but living low
Set me free so I don't know
On the line, what will I say?
Soaring through that night and day
Locking all my fears away
In this light, I lay
What a life I lack, never cut me slack
Old to these mothafuckas like an artifact
I roll with that and I bring it back
Keepin' up with me, I've been on the attack
I was falling down, like an endless pit
Feeling so off, lemme take a hit
Broke outta that jail, I had to quit
If you feelin' fucked up, let this sit
I'm running through the twilight
Running through the twilight
Running through the twilight
Running thru the twi– (I'll be)
Running through the twilight
Running through the twilight
Running through the twilight
Running through the twilight
Running through the twilight
Snow up on the headlights
Gotta get my head right
Stars appearing in my sight
Running through the twilight
Snow up on the headlights
Gotta get my head right
Stars appearing in my–
I'll be there no matter where I go
Walking through the icy snow
Dreaming high but living low
Set me free so I don't know
On the line, what will I say?
Soaring through that night and day
Locking all my fears away
In this light, I lay
I'll be there no matter where I go
Walking through the icy snow
Dreaming high but living low
Set me free so I don't know
On the line, what will I say?
Soaring through that night and day

Locking all my fears away
In this light, I lay, I pray

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to J.O.S.H.'s song "Twilight" are about a late-night phone call between two lovers. The singer is receiving a call from his lover, who is feeling paranoid and afraid, as if she is in a state of twilight. He likens her emotions to a snake bite running through her veins. Despite her fears, he reassures her that they can be reckless and crazy together. The chorus repeats, emphasizing their mutual madness and the effect it has on their bodies.

The second verse shifts to the perspective of the lover on the other line of the phone call. She is also calling in a late-night panic, but the singer sees her illuminated by the moonlight. He recognizes that she has fears and promises to be there for her, never letting her shed a tear. He sings that he fell from the stars just to be with her, finally realizing that they can shine brightly together. The chorus repeats twice more, rounding out the song's catchy melody and romantic themes.

Overall, "Twilight" is a song about the intense, all-consuming feelings of love and the way those emotions can manifest in our bodies. The lyrics emphasize the idea of being reckless, crazy, and madly in love with someone, and the way that passion can feel like a snake bite coursing through our veins. The song's catchy melody and hypnotic hook make it an irresistible listen, capturing the exhilaration and intensity of young love in a way that's both relatable and exciting.

Her twilight film is my favorite one. The queen of independent aesthetic😊

@gi1326

me too, i feel like she really captured the real feeling of the book, wish she kept on directing the whole saga

@merryway3

Same, the first one feels really intimate and cozy. I love the indie aesthetic.

@andrimufid2195

Love it or hate it, what she has put together is a miracle. We're so lucky to live in that era

Really? 🙄🤷

In Hollywood, it's all about following the money. When a film of a certain genre/IP is successful at the box office, studios wanna make more of these type of movies. The fact that this movie was done by director who made it (in many aspects) her own way, and the studio was able to let her get away with it, and earning $700 million at the box office, and on top of that still has that timeless quality to it speaks a lot to the fact luck has been on the side of this universe.

@gulseniseviyorumbaby

she literally gave birth to a whole genre and i’m so happy that she’s finally getting the recognition she deserves!!!

@washposthero

Such a shame she didn't get to make the rest of the series. This was the best one.

@hannahg8439

She could have made the rest of the series but chose not to.
