2. J. Smit… Read Full Bio ↴1. J. Smith is a female pop/urban artist from California.
2. J. Smith may be a self-described small town Kentucky boy, but his unique R&B vocal styling is definitely Big City pimpin' with an urban edge. Inspired at a young age by artists such as Boyz II Men, Jon B. and Babyface, his voice is ripe with the purity, passion and soulfulness, usually heard in artists with rich R&B pedigrees.
Not that his musical lineage and upbringing should be discounted: J. Smith hails from a family of talented Bluegrass and Country singers, and as early as age 7 he could be found at a friend's house parroting the popular radio artists who would go on to influence his songwriting in later years.
With a fan base that spans the globe from Texas to Tokyo, his sophomore album βThat's Loveβ¦That's Life' (2007), shows off his range as a singer, and as a songwriter. From the plaintive plea of βRight Hereβ, to the crunk-twisted groove of βOn Fiyahβ (featuring Mr. Serv-On), from the laidback lilt of βLet βEm Spinβ to the new jack swing of βLonelyβ (featuring One), βThat's Loveβ¦That's Life' reveals this artist at his finest.
J. Smith's sophomore album That's Loveβ¦That's Life was released in the summer 2007.
3. J. Smith is the artist of Buttpoems. He also writes and sings songs. He is from Portland.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot, and auld lang syne
For auld lang syne my jo, for auld lang syne
We'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet, for auld lang syne
And surely ye'll be your pint-stoup! and surely I'll be mine
And we'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet, for auld lang syne
For auld lang syne my jo, for auld lang syne
We'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet, for auld lang syne
But we've wander'd mony a weary fit, sin' auld lang syne
For auld lang syne my jo, for auld lang syne
We'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet, for auld lang syne
And there's a hand my trusty fiere, and gie's a hand o' thine
And we'll tak' a right gude willie waught, for auld lang syne
For auld lang syne my jo, for auld lang syne
We'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet, for auld lang syne
The lyrics to J. Smith's song "Auld Lang Syne" reflect on the idea of remembering old friendships and shared experiences. The phrase "auld lang syne" translates to "old long since" or "days gone by" in Scots language. The song begins by asking whether old acquaintances should be forgotten and left behind. It questions whether it is appropriate to let go of past connections and memories.
However, as the song continues, it suggests that for the sake of old times and old friendships, a cup of kindness should be shared. This emphasizes the importance of cherishing and celebrating the bonds formed in the past. The lyrics speak of running about the hills, picking flowers, and recollecting the adventures shared with loved ones. It acknowledges the weariness of life's journey since those times but emphasizes the need for unity and friendship.
Overall, "Auld Lang Syne" is a meaningful reflection on the significance of remembering and valuing old friendships and experiences. It encourages the listener to raise a cup of kindness in honor of those connections, even in the face of time passing and changes in life.

No one judge me for when I say that I didn't get halfway through the video...by having tears stinging in my eyes, my heartstrings being plucked as this is being played. I began singing along with you (while being incredibly out of practice), but the weight of the world was being lifted as I started crying.
Thank you so much for sharing your gifts, your patrons, and so many who helped you with this video.
I recently came across your channel and your covers helped get me through some of my roughest days.
