TAKARAJIMA
JABBERLOOP Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Overall Meaning

In Jabberloop's song TAKARAJIMA, the lyrics describe reminiscing about a time when things were simpler and more magical. The first verse talks about looking up at the sky through a small glass marble and seeing the clouds distorted. It's a memory of feeling carefree, and the clouds symbolize the dreamlike quality of the past. The second verse reflects on how things that were once believed in can become distorted and unclear over time. However, the memories of the beautiful moments shared with a special person are still held onto, like a treasure from a lost island.

The chorus speaks of this place as a "treasure island" or "takarajima," a special world just for the singer and their companion that can't be found anywhere else. They reminisce about seeing a group of small gods after school and kicking dirt into the air, as well as lying on their back and seeing a city drenched in rain. These are moments that are held close to their hearts, reminders of a time when they felt invincible and surrounded by magic.

The final verse talks about the future, and how the two must go their separate ways, but how they have a dream that is bigger and more secret than anyone else's. Despite taking different paths, they both believe that they will find something wonderful at the end of their journey. The song ends with a call to action: stomp on the ground and raise some dust, because the singer is in the center of the map and can choose any path they want to take.

Overall, TAKARAJIMA is a song about nostalgia, growing up, and creating magical moments with someone special that can never be replicated.
