I would recommend checking out the Dr. Shirley Turner and Dr. Andrew Bagby case. Sad but interesting story. My cousin was the lawyer on the case for Andrew's parents. She got called to the bar street that case and is a judge now. There's a documentary called "Dear Zachary: A letter to a son about his father" about it

She does significantly more than most true crime channels in regard to treating the victims as human beings who lived and loved and were unique and should not be gone from this Earth so early in their lives. It's extremely important that folks remember the human cost of violent crime. It's easy to see a victim and not the person that word represents. I appreciate the work she does to share a bit about who these people were.

Yeah. I’ve seen this case on some of the true crime series I’ve watched, & it has always haunted me. How these sweet, giving, poor ppl went to their horrible death still clutching on to each other. So not right. They should’ve been allowed to enjoy the rest of their years in peace. They didn’t even get to finish their last meal 😓💔. I hope there is a hell and that all of these monsters that did this will end up there someday.

this is why I always warn older relatives to stick to volunteering with, and interacting with, only their peers and family. no 'community outreach' through churches or any other organization involving troubled youths, or walking down to service centers in dangerous areas. Carol and Reggie treated this trashy girl like their daughter and she murdered them for a pitiful 100k. imagine killing two angelic people for 18 months salary. I'm sure she spent it on drugs.

In one video she'll say "it's just a bit of fun" then in another she said something like "He's a libra and we don't claim him" as if she takes this garbage seriously. There's no scientific evidence to back up the thought that the position of the constellations has ANY influence on a person's behavior, and people who lend any amount of credence to it are foolish to do so. There are thousands of variables that go into a person's development, and the zodiac isn't one of them.

@Brad Pollard the majority of the time, (except for when used by defense attorneys during trials Etc.) It is not used as an excuse. As you said, there is never an excuse for any neuro typical person who knows right from wrong to cause harm to others outside of self defense in certain situations. When their pasts are brought up, and their history of abuse, it is to give insight as to why they are the way they are. Not an example, but an explanation. It is VERY rare for someone who was raised in near perfect environment, with great parents and influences to grow up to be a killer, or to lead a bad life altogether. It happens, but it's rare. Genetics play a huge role in behavior/mentality as well, and knowing the full history can help us all better understand where it all comes from and how to eventually better treat situations in the future. So again, not an excuse, but an explanation.

i’ve heard horrible, sick, twisted and sadistic murder cases before but this one genuinely HURTS my heart. something about sweet elders that have nothing but good energy and trust to put out into the world do not deserve this. nobody does, but it just makes it so much harder to hear. for some reason when you mentioned Reggie’s coin collection it just hit me how innocent they were and how unfair and tragic it is that this poor man and woman had to go through this from someone they trusted. i will remember them everyday.

My grandmother was a nurse, but her other passion was true crime. She taught me a lot as someone who grew up during the Great Depression and stuff, but one if the things she taught me that evil is real, to never be naive about what people are capable of, that there is a force of darkness that uses people to snuff out the good. 'Evil' mjght just be 'sociopathy' in scientific terms, but the older I get, and the more I learn, the more I realize that she was right. Look out for each other, everyone. Evil is real.

im thinking that burying them alive was a way to kill them “without” violence and therefore without guilt. and through pure cognitive dissonance, tiffany convinced herself that this was a moral way to get the deed done. even tho anyone with a shred of human empathy knows that being buried alive has to be one of the most horrendous ways to die

Exactly what I was going to say. In an odd way it takes the “dirty work” out of it bc u do not see that you have snuffed the light out of their eyes. It’s sort of covering it up…no blood no gore. @whitexchina At the same time though have you ever considered that you just may be a way stronger person then they are :) i’m in no way shape or form justifying the fact that people use child hood trauma as an excuse to murder, but some of the most notorious serial killers have come from broken homes, leading them to feel neglected, and giving them a very deep hatred for the world, and people around them, I guess my point is that childhood trauma could cause people to do horrific things, but you’re just one of the stronger people who were able to view things clearly and logically. I hope i’m making sense 😅

Hearing crime cases always makes you a little sad and heartbroken for the victims and their families but this one hit me differently.
Such good souls had such a terrible ending at the hands of someone they trusted so much.

I remember this one well since I’m from SC, and it was just so incredibly sad. Tiffany is young but not that young - she’s the third-youngest woman on death row in the US. Unfortunately for her, this crime was committed in Florida - had it happened in SC, it’s less likely she would have received a death sentence (not even Susan Smith did). I have no doubt she experienced a lot of abuse and neglect growing up, but it apparently left her unable to have any real empathy for this couple who had done so much for her.

In my case obviously not ending in death but I genuinely help anyone I can, high standards morals n values I pride myself on still gets me nothing but trouble in return. It always seems to be the case, the nice people that help just get $h!t on in return. Bad things happen to nice ppl it’s so sad that the sumners went well out of their way to help out a friend and that friend responded by getting them killed. It makes me feel like not helping out anyone anymore. I’ve had things stolen from my home, money and other things happen after helping certain ppl out that I classes as friends, real friends

But in general it's tricky. A lot of women prisoners, who are on there for self defense, get raped by guards and get pregnant. I want them to get the specific tools they need, but sterilization as a blank slate is tricky....

This has to be the first time I’ve ever truly cried during a true crime story. I guess after a while you become numb to things but something like this. These poor innocent elderly people. This is probably the most disgusting case ever… Ive heard so many true crime stories but this one us just horrible… using their age and health issues and choosing this type of death is just horrific. I can’t even imagine how the couple must have felt when they found out Tiffany was behind it… my heart breaks

It's something veterans do all the time. It's from joining at 18 (or younger or older), never learning proper finances, feeling pressure to get of barracks, and essentially living damn near poverty as a paid US government employee that once they get some cash, it's a toxic relationship. It doesn't ordinarily improve much either until someone literally smacks them - and that's the nicest, least violent method. They do not learn any decorum or discretion regarding finances. And, I say this as an ex va nurse with lots of love... Please, shut the hell up. 🥺

I'd also never give up my pin. After you do that they don't need you alive anymore. Yeah it'll probably piss them off which can be dangerous, but it's highly unlikely they're just going to let you go anyway, especially when it's a home invasion type robbery.

People actually do this ALL THE TIME. I have an uncle whom I take care of who unfortunately used to feel the need to tell strangers about the hundreds of thousands of dollars he had in his brokerage account. 😬 the first time I heard this I took him aside and warned him that it could be dangerous to him to keep giving out that information. He understood and thankfully stopped. Sometimes older people don't realize the evil that is out there.

I agree with your detachment theory about their decision to bury them alive because it allows them to believe that they didn’t actually kill them. Tiffany detached herself by not actively participating.

So heartbreaking. The part about them hugging each other and praying in the trunk of their own vehicle, and then that their dead bodies were found holding each other made me want to cry. Such a beautiful love they had for each other, and such unbelievably kind and generous people they were. I know they are in Heaven together. May they Rest In Peace. 🙏❤️

Omg i remember being about 8-9 years old when I stayed at a friends house and I watched adocumentary about this murder and I stayed up into the early hours of the morning watching it and to this day I never forgot this murder and it absolutely terrified me growing up that someone could be buried alive but I could never remember who the killers were or the victims, this story is just so upsetting and tragic 😢🥺

Me listening to Danielle describe Tiffany’s early life, me being like damn, I can relate 😕 but I’m so glad I didn’t turn into bad person because of it. Child hood trauma affects everyone differently. It’s sad it affected her so badly she became a murderer.

@irlhotghoul absolutely! I have been raised in an abusive household with emotionally/physically abusing parents and the list will go on and on. These experiences leave us with trauma that is to stay there for life-long, even in the slightest way possible. But the only difference between the two types of survivors i.e. the sane/sensible ones and the abusers is that the former acknowledge the pain and know what NOT to do, be empathetic, is aware of their issues and the latter become the bearer of the abuse and want to inflict the same pain on others.

@Sneha Sutradhar sane? Sure…mentally stable ehhhhhh not so much.
The PTSD, BPD, anxiety and depression that comes from it is brutal.
Some people who can’t cope well do end up as people who’ve chosen to commit murder. Everyone though, no matter how you were raised has the ability to commit murder, everyone has limits that once pushed its game over.
Just people who have had rough upbringings have a higher chance if they haven’t had the mental health & financial support and love.
