Their music was quite innovative in the progressive circles of those years, and is considered very rare by most fans and analysts of this kind of music, especially in an era which saw the development of groups such as Pink Floyd, Genesis or Gentle Giant, which were the basis of the new progressive rock scene.
The band was experimental in its nature, and had been labeled by founder Antonio Bartoccetti as "a youth mistake". Antonio Bartoccetti involvement with other groups during the 70's ensured Jacula's relatively small discography.
Nevertheless, the two albums the group conceived are albeit complete: In Cauda Semper Stat Venenum (1969) which has a superposition of organ, piano and other dark sound effects, and Tardo Pede In Magiam Versus (1973) which features Doris Norton's vocals.
After nearly four decades, Jacula released their third studio album Pre Viam in May, 2011.

The Jacula song U.F.D.E.M. is a contemplative reflection on the human condition, particularly in modern times. The lyrics are directed towards an unnamed person, referred to as "uomo di questo mondo" (man of this world), who is consistently running towards something, even though it is unclear what that something is. The singer acknowledges that this person may end up even commanding God in the future, given how tirelessly they pursue their goals.
However, the singer is critical of this mindset. They note that the person only values money, and their leaps of faith are characterized as "salti nel buio" (jumps into the dark). These jumps only lead to a dark and negative world, as the person's "veleno" (poison) infects those around them. The singer notes that in this world of darkness, even children begin to resemble monsters.
The final lines of the song are particularly bleak, calling for the end of the "uomo moderno" (modern man) who denies mystery and the eternal. This ending is a commentary on the dehumanizing effects of modernity, in which people become obsessed with money and success, while losing sight of what it means to be truly human.

C’est comme si l’on entrait dans un de ces palaces d’Europe centrale à l’architecture pâtissière style religieuse au chocolat. Dans chaque pièce où l’on pénètre, les individus sont habillés en noir et blanc des pieds à la tête. Ils ont cette étrange absence dans les yeux tout en vous regardant fixement. Les plafonds sont peints, le mobilier d’un luxe indescriptible et le marbre veiné des tables reflète l’évanescente sérénité de l’endroit ! Tout y est rigide, jusqu’au temps qui s’écoule derrière les lambris, comme aux aguets. Orgue rampant, frémissement des cymbales. La voix haut perchée de la donzelle répond au chant sautillant de la basse - un délice !!
