T'as dit on reste en bons termes
Faut croire qu't'as changé d'avis
The song "Adèle" by jäde tells the story of a complicated romantic relationship between two people, where one person (jäde) is feeling a lot of emotions and vulnerability while the other person is more distant and unemotional. The opening verses talk about jäde's frustration with her partner, who seems to view love as a hindrance and talks about other girls, leaving jäde feeling unimportant and disregarded. Despite this, she still knows that he thinks of her, particularly in the intimate moments they shared in the past. The chorus then repeats the apology for not having time to deal with these complicated emotions and relationship issues, and acknowledges that it is better to accept that it is over than to keep fighting.
The second verse moves to the present, where they have bumped into each other at a party. jäde tries to appear nonchalant, but is clearly still affected by this person's presence and interactions with other women. The bridge then touches on jäde's own ambitions and goals in life, and how she does not have time to keep fighting a battle she knows she cannot win because her partner's heart is like cement. The final verses come back to the present, where jäde struggles with her mixed feelings towards her ex-partner, accepting it is over, but also still finding it hard to forget the connection they had.
Overall, the song is a poignant and emotional exploration of a relationship that cannot seem to work, no matter how much one person wants it to. It captures the pain and complexities of heartbreak and highlights the importance of acceptance and moving on.
