1) Jade were an English folk rock band founded in 1970 by Dave Waite & Marianne Segal who had been performing as a folk duo since the mid 1960s. In the United States the group was known as Marianne Segal and Silver Jade. Jade consisted of Segal (songwriter, vocals, guitar, percussion), Waite (guitar, banjo, bass and vocals) and Rod Edwards (keyboards, bass and vocals).

Their album Fly On Strangewings (DJLPS 407) was recorded in March 1970, at Trident Studios, Soho, London. The album was produced by John Miller and engineered by Robin Cable for DJM Records. The following musicians contributed to the album: John Wetton – bass; James Litherland – guitar; Pete Sears – bass; Michael Rosen – guitar; Clem Cattini – drums; Terry Cox – drums; Pete York – drums; Mick Waller – drums; Harry Reynolds – bass; Phil Dennys - string arrangements. The album featured harpsichord, violin as well as guitar instrumentation, combined with male and female vocal harmonies.
Jade disbanded in the autumn of 1971. They reformed for a single performance in November 2004 to mark the CD reissue of their album.

His debut Album "Venom LP" was released in 2009 on the criticaly aclaimed dutch Citrus Label.
This LP features typical dark and deep neurofunk tracks jade's well known for, as well as some experimental and downtempo songs.

PAT (guitarist) has since relocated to California in 1993, and has formed popular LA heavy metal act WORLD JUNGLE.

Overall Meaning

In the first verse of the song, Jade sings about a morning where her loved one doesn't say a word and has trembling hands. It seems like this person is exhausted from serving customers and putting in a lot of effort. Jade pleads to the heavens to give this person a chance to rest and mentions a gust of wind blowing towards the stall. She shouts and calls out, patiently waiting.

In the chorus, Jade expresses gratitude for the typhoon that brings relief and allows her to play in the water. It also brings her a beef rice meal and her parents are sitting together instead of being scattered. She mentions having a full table of food and a warm home that no wind would dare to disturb.
