The lyrics to Jah Vinci's song Money Dream explore the difficulties faced by young people living in disadvantaged areas who are searching for financial success. The song talks about the challenges that the artist faces as he tries to reach his dreams of financial stability. The line "search mi ah search for de dream it ah de most wanted inna de scheme" shows the desperation of young people to escape poverty and provides insight into the challenges they face. The use of the phrase "money green" reiterates this point, highlighting the importance placed on wealth and financial status in society.
The artist uses his own experiences to further emphasize the hardships that young people face. He talks about wasting money on champagne and boat rides, which is a stark contrast to his father's hard work on the roadside to provide for his family. This provides an insight into the differences in lifestyles between the wealthy and the poor. Additionally, he addresses the idea that "what goes around must come back around" which shows the cyclical nature of poverty and the struggle to escape it.
Overall, Jah Vinci's Money Dream provides a powerful insight into the struggles that young people face in disadvantaged areas. The lyrics are a call to action for society to address issues of inequality and create more opportunities for financial success.
