Where D'You Go?
Jamie Lidell Lyrics

Where'd you go
Why'd you leave
Why is it everywhere I look.
And I just can't see you at all
[Chorus 2]
Thats why I cry
Thats why I cry
I'm gonna have to get along without you
I'm gonna have to get along without you
I'm gonna have to get along without you
Still asking
[Chorus 1]
Where'd you go
Won't you stay
Why is it everywhere I look
And I just can't see you at all
[Chorus 2]
Still asking where'd you go
[Chorus 2]
Still asking
[Chorus 1]
Where'd you go
Wont you stay
Why is it everywhere I look.
And I just can't see you at all
Where'd you go
The lyrics to Jamie Lidell's song "Where'd You Go" express a sense of loss and confusion regarding someone who has left. The first and repeated chorus poses a series of questions - where did they go, why did they leave, and why can't the singer see them anymore? The repetition of these questions creates a feeling of urgency and desperation, emphasizing the gravity of the situation. It's clear that the singer is deeply affected by the absence of this person, as evidenced in the repeated refrain - "that's why I cry" - which reveals the emotional toll that this loss has taken on them.
Despite the sorrow and confusion, the singer seems to be trying to find a way to move forward. The repeated line "I'm gonna have to get along without you" in the second chorus suggests that, while it's difficult, the singer knows they need to find a way to live their life without this person. However, even as they try to move forward, they can't help but continue to question where the person has gone and why they left. The final repetition of the chorus underscores this sense of unanswered questions and unresolved feelings, leaving the listener with a sense of lingering sadness and longing.
Overall, the lyrics to "Where'd You Go" capture the complexity and heartache of a relationship ending, highlighting the raw emotions that can accompany loss.

Yeah, This whole album is great, I wish we could get back to that ya know, Make the whole album great & stop worrying about hits and singles. it's hard these days to find an album that you can play all the way through without skipping tracks. We don't make those anymore it seems. sometimes they got like 6 different producers each one handling like 2 or 3 tunes a piece on the album. some of this new "music" sounds like it's all over the place,
