When bass player Anton Grahn, whom the band had been keeping an eye on for a long time, eventually teamed up with the band the setting was complete. Things finally started to move.
During the fall of 2008 the band recorded its first song "Violet Dance" on its own. The critical reception was exclusively positive from many different directions. The band started booking gigs while continuing recording a second song. In January 2009, the band released the fragile, but epic "Drawing Lines". During the spring the band did a couple of gigs but spent most of the time focusing on writing and rehearsing new songs. By the end of the summer, eight songs were ready to be played live.
Sebastian Andersson left the band after a sunny farewell gig in August to study political science at Uppsala University. Before he left the band, drums were recorded for all songs so the others could spend time in the studio working on a debut EP while looking for a new drummer. A third song, called "Volt", was released shortly after, showing a different sound with a heavier focus on synthesizers.
At first the band had no success trying to find a new drummer. There were a few interested but it never clicked. The motivation sunk and as time went by, recording sessions became more sporadic.
But in December, when the band was chosen to compete in the Showcase 2010 final, Janice Prix was forced to look for a new drummer again, and so it did. Drummer Robin Mashallah joined the band and it all turned. It entered a period of intense rehearsing for the Showcase final and recording and mixing of the EP. The old songs' mixes were reworked from scratch with some new takes and they finished two new songs: the pop song "We Lasted Longer (Than I Thought)" in a traditional hit form and the somewhat heavier and not so conventional "Month Of March".
Showcase 2010 took place February 26 at Stora Teatern in Gothenburg. As planned, the band released their debut EP "[Κ€Γ¦nΙͺs pri:]" the very same day, which arrived with express delivery just a few hours earlier. Hundreds of bands had applied for the contest and now there were just ten left. The jury, consisting of people from the music industry, announced that just like the previous year, two bands would stand as winners at the end of the night and during on year receive help with a tailor-made promotion package. Together with their dressing-room mates Teodoure, Janice Prix was victorious. Janice Prix was described as "fragile, beautiful and stylistically pure with good nerve".
The band is now planning a few gigs during the spring followed by a larger summer tour.

Janice Prix Lyrics

But I don't want this anymore, only one of us hurts when we fall.
When my heart is dying, you're not trying.
The times we had, the times we shared, they mean nothing to me now.
I hope you realize that we're through, I could never be with you.
When my heart is dying, you're not trying
The lyrics of Janice Prix's song Heart in 2-3 depict a couple that is facing a challenging moment in their relationship. The sunrise reaching the singer's face represents optimism and new beginnings, but the plea to stay contradicts such imagery, suggesting a reluctance to move on from a difficult situation. The singer recognizes the pain that comes from their relationship and realizes they no longer want to be part of it. The line "only one of us hurts when we fall" indicates that the singer has been the only one fighting for the relationship, while the lover hasn't done anything to preserve it.
The chorus "when my heart is dying, you're not trying" emphasizes the one-sided effort in the relationship and the singer's realization that their lover is not willing to make changes to save it. The singer has come to terms with the fact that their shared moments and memories no longer hold significance and hopes that their lover can realize the same. These lyrics convey a sense of resignation, bitterness, and disappointment but also highlight the singer's courage to walk away from a toxic relationship eventually.
