Derek Duke and Glenn Stafford composed the tracks in the menus and the in-game music, while Jason Hayes composed the music used in the cinematic cut scenes. Tracy W. Bush provided additional support in composing.
The musical score for StarCraft was received well by reviewers, who have described it as "appropriately melodic and dark" and "impressive", with one reviewer noting that some of the music owed much of its inspiration to Jerry Goldsmith's score for the film Alien. Según mis investigaciones la canción fue compuesta aproximadamente en 2001 ya que recuerdo venia un trailer viejisisimo, la misma nunca se uso en classic, recien en tbc se agrego en la batalla del monte hyjal (la raid) pero luego misteriosamente seria eliminada.
Mis sospechas que era la canción para algo grande, ya sea un trailer o quizás el login del classic, si lo ves tiene sentido que este sea el loggin y no legends of azeroth, pero capaz lo cambiaron a ultimo momento.
Esta canción también suena de fondo cuando instalabas algunos cds de wow, es un gran enigma hasta el día de hoy para que se usaría originalmente.
En el cd de classic las primeras canciones son muy poco usadas en el juego
01. Legends of Azeroth (Main Title) (la intro)
02. The Shaping of the World (Exclusive Track) (por algo le ponen exclusive track, porque parece era para algo anterior)
03. Legacy (Exclusive Track) la mayor parte de la canción no suena nunca en el juego, solo la parte final suena en algunas mazmorras y raids
04. Song of Elune (Exclusive Track) esta canción si no me equivoco algunas partes no suenan ingame, pero otras si (en teldrassil y vallefresno creo)
05. Echoes of the Past (Exclusive Track) esta canción es de Warcraft 3 y la única vez que se usa es en el escape de durnhold (la mazmorra)
06. A Call to Arms: Increiblemente nunca suena en el juego
Como ves, los Exclusive Track son justamente eso, canciones muy exclusivas y con poco uso, asi que tiene mucho sentido que The Shaping of the World sea de la epoca de Warcraft o del desarrollo de WoW, y la agregaron al cd como un recuerdo o reliquia

Where is this WoW music exactly from? Was it in some game promotional video, patch trailer or some location? It's been a few years since I played WoW and can't remember it myself. :( I do remember some watching a video on YT showing vanilla Azeroth with this song being played in background but it was a good few years ago and I can't find it now. Help!

It was used in promotional and it was on the soundtrack. Never was in the game. I personally have played since Vanilla (still play) and it's not in there anywhere. Maybe in the first Cinematic, ever, but it's not anywhere else. Officially in game, that is.
