Yaz decided, a month prior to the tour, to leave her former band Ashbury Heights and start anew as Javelynn, but the band wasn't complete until Johan Andersson agreed to be the band's guitarist and second brain! Though the music is built upon (and around) synthesizers, Yaz wanted to try a mixture of cold vocals, echoing leads, vivid pads and shredded strings in order to incorporate the sounds of her early teenage "idols" with her own visions and experiences. Johan was the ideal musician to snatch - not only for his impressive skills but also for his open-mindedness and creativity!
As of now, Javelynn is working around the clock with an upcoming single, set to be released before the summer of 2009. The goal is to release a debut album sometime during late 2009 or early 2010 It might seem like a long time but creativity and inspiration can neither be tamed nor broken, though we savour the moments when they honor us with their presence!
With this we will leave you in the hands of time and continue our tireless efforts to achieve our goals! Electro just took a turn to the Dark Side.
Morphine
Javelynn Lyrics

With dollar bills
Curse the city lights
And I can't stand
Another wasted night with you
Is this where we begin
With a truth
Stained with Sin
You'd never tell me
That you love me
When you're sober
You'd never hold me
When the weekend
Is over
Vain and heartsick
You damn your pride
Hide behind your fears
And I, I'm chewing
Off my flesh and bones
My dear
Is this where we begin
With a kiss
Soaked in Gin
The verses of Javelynn's song "Morphine" describe a toxic and dysfunctional relationship, where both parties are struggling through a night of reckless behavior and fleeting moments of intimacy. The first verse uses metaphorical language to set the scene of a raucous nightlife, with the singer's heart beating erratically as they consume drugs and money. They lament the pointlessness of spending another restless evening with their partner, implying that they are caught in a cycle of self-destruction. The phrase "curse the city lights" suggests a disdain for the oppressive and crowded urban atmosphere, and perhaps the idea of being lost in the hustle and bustle of the city.
The second verse focuses more on the specific dynamic between the two lovers. The singer notes that their partner is emotionally distant and unable to express affection unless they are under the influence of alcohol or drugs. It's as if they can't admit their love soberly, as if it's too vulnerable of a feeling to bear. The line "when the weekend is over" implies that this relationship only exists within the confines of partying and temporary pleasure - as if they are only together for the escape that it provides. Meanwhile, the singer feels their own pain acutely, as if they are tearing themselves apart to stay in this doomed relationship. The final line of the verse ("Is this where we begin / With a kiss / Soaked in Gin") is both romantic and tragic, with the idea that their connection is forged in a moment of drunken passion that will never be sustained.
Overall, "Morphine" is a haunting portrayal of a relationship that is both magnetic and toxic. With its blend of raw emotion and vivid imagery, the song captures the intensity of a love that is unsustainable and ultimately destructive.
