Instead, Javine became a solo artist in 2003 and her debut single, 'Real Things' charted at No 4 in the UK although she had limited success with follow-up singles and a failed album "Surrender". In 2005 Javine was chosen to represent the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest on 21 May 2005 with the song "Touch My Fire".
After appearing on Channel 4 reality show "The Games" and starring in the West End, Javine caused controversy after having an affair with Alesha Dixon's husband MC Harvey. The couple had a child together in 2008 before splitting in 2009.

Verse 1
Everybody wanna be
Wearing jewellery
Escaping reality
Running the city
So you wanna be number one
It's not about me and you
It's about the things you do
Most guys don't have a clue
Material issues
How can I make you see the real things in life are free
Hottest , Finest
(Chorus)
We all need someone
That can show you what you love is(need someone)
That will never let you down (need someone)
To tell you that they love you and will always be around
(Bridge)
You could be the hottest , You coul be the finest
It don't matter to me
You could be the baddest with the most stylish
You could be rollin' in money
It don't matter what you got if your heart is there in love
You could be the hottest , you could be the finest
It don't matter to me
Verse 2
I don't mind pretty things
Wouldn't mind a diamon ring
But trust me I'd be cheaping in
I'd take what life brings
You gotta do what you decide
But do what feels right
I just wanna keep it real
That's just how it feel
It's not about the JOB
But the R.E.S.P.E.C.T
How can I make you see the real things in life are free
Hottest , Finest
(Chorus)
We all need someone
That can show you what you love is (need someone)
That will never let you down (need someone)
To tell you that they love you and always be around
(Bridge)
You could be the hottest you coul be the finest
It don't matter to me
You could be the baddest with the most stylish
You could be rollin' in money
It don't matter what you got if your heart is there in love
You could be the hottest you could be the finest
It don't matter to me
If you got it you don't have to flaunt it
If I don't show it don't mean that I ain't got it
No it don't mean a thing
If you ain't got real things
Shu op shu op shu op
Repeat chorus 2x till end
We all need someone
That can show you what you love is (need someone)
That will never let you down (need someone)
To tell you that they love you and always be around
The song "Real Things" by Javine strongly emphasizes the idea that true love and respect cannot be bought by material possessions. The opening lines point towards individuals obsessed with wealth and luxury, which they feel is their key to happiness. The singer encourages these individuals not to forget their roots and where they come from. The chorus emphasizes the importance of finding someone who will love and accept you for who you are, not for the things you possess or the image you project.
The second verse acknowledges the common desire for materialistic objects but suggests that true happiness should not depend on these objects. The lines indicate a preference for someone who shows genuine love and respect instead of someone who flaunts their material possessions. The bridge conveys that being the hottest or the most stylish or having the most money does not matter as long as there is genuine love and respect in a relationship.

@tragicmulatto yes you're right. SO weird I watched this video for the first time in about a year earlier this week. I was a bit confused because I didn't remember making a comment and now I'm confused that I could have got the year wrong in the first place!!
