Restart
Jayne Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Racism and hate
Perpetuated by the state
Capital greed
Crushing our basic needs
Terror and war
To keep everyone poor
A medical system
That only masks the symptoms
If you think you can fix these problems up really quick
You're gonna need to wake up, because our time is up
I'm sorry if this message gives you the feels
But it all needs to fail, before we can heal

I'm gonna watch the world do a restart
The change it needs is gonna break your heart
Every system we know will fall apart
The breakdown is gonna be off the chart

A new seed will grow
Where the trash used to go
Eventually you will see
That seed will become a tree
We will sit in her shade, and think of changes we made
But this I will warn, we won't be in the same form
I'm not sure I'm awake, to the shape we will take
But I guarantee it will be in harmony

I'm gonna watch the world do a restart
The change it needs is gonna break your heart

Every system we know will fall apart
The breakdown is gonna be off the chart

Overall Meaning

In the song "Restart" by Jayne, the lyrics delve into various social issues and the need for a complete overhaul of the existing systems. The lyrics touch upon themes of racism, hate, capitalism, greed, and the oppressive state that perpetuates these problems. The artist highlights the detrimental effects of terrorism, war, and the flawed medical system that only masks the symptoms rather than addressing the root causes.

The lyrics suggest that fixing these issues will require a collective awakening and recognition that time is running out. While the message may evoke intense emotions, the artist asserts that the current systems need to fail before true healing and progress can occur.

Moving forward, the song offers hope for a new beginning. Like a seed growing from the trash, there is potential for positive change. The lyrics hint at the idea that as society evolves, so will its form, and it will be in harmony. Ultimately, the artist urges listeners to envision a world where all the existing systems are dismantled and rebuilt in a way that addresses inequality, greed, and oppression.

I even remember a specific dva zarya vod of a diamond player I watched that still sticks with me. Jayne really brings back some parts in my life bc of how good his content used to be
