Wild Tyme
Jefferson Airplane Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

It's a wild time
I see people all around me changing faces
It's a wild time
I'm doing things that haven't got a name yet;
I see love all the time
I need love, your love
I'm here for you an old time stay here, play here
It don't matter if it's rain or shine
I want to be with you, no matter what I do
What doesn't change is the way
I feel for you today
And it's new, so new
Make a place for yourself here

I see changes, changes all around me are changesTimes just seem so good
I do know that I should be here with you this way

Overall Meaning

It's a time where love is abundant and the singer is seeking it out. It feels weird listening to this without smoking weed, But the memories remind me of the time.

Vince S

Yeah, I get an auto high just listening now, without smoking.

Between those soaring twin-lead vocals, and Jorma's fluid, stinging lead, this one's a winner. I was only 7 when this album was released, but still listen to it along with all the other classic psychedelia of that era.

I wish they would remix and bring Kantner's guitar more to the front. I love Jorma, but he often overpowers the mix, IMO.

Terry Knepper

i agree......Kantner proved why a rhythm guitarist is utilized in the first place.....

This is the only JA album where Paul's guitar is actually as loud as it should be, which is VERY loud for a rhythm guitar. He did write most of the album though, so I guess the songs wouldn't really work without his guitar at the front.

I'd kill for a remix of this album and Pillow

Fred Landes

well, that's an unusual opinion. I'll give you that.

Samba C

"The name "Surrealistic Pillow" was suggested by the 'shadow' producer of the album, Jerry Garcia, when he mentioned that, as a whole, the album sounded "as Surrealistic as a pillow is soft." Although RCA Victor would not acknowledge Garcia's considerable contributions to the album with a "Producer" credit, he is listed in the album's credits as "spiritual advisor.""
