Born in Providence, RI, Jeffrey Osborne was the youngest of 12 children and was constantly bombarded with music as he was growing up. He had five brothers and six sisters, some of whom went on to have music careers. His father, Clarence "Legs" Osborne, was a popular trumpeter who played with Lionel Hampton, Count Basie, and Duke Ellington, and died when Jeffrey was only 13. His mother, Wanita, is ancestored by a Pequot Indian sachem. His oldest brother, Clay Osborne, is a singer and pianist, and Billy, another brother, is a songwriter and producer in Los Angeles. But Osborne's father had the greatest influence on his musical career; Clarence "Legs" Osborne turned down many top band offers during his career to be with his family. It was only after receiving his mother's encouragement that Jeffrey left for Los Angeles to play with L.T.D. At the age of 15, he sat in with the O'Jays when the drummer was too tired to play, and went on to play with them for two weeks. It was at a Providence nightclub that fate brought him together with the band Love Men Ltd. in 1969.
Osborne's solo career has brought him five gold and platinum albums, including Stay With Me Tonight, Aymuk, and Only Human. He also recorded an album of duets with popular singer James Ingram, and scored an international hit with "On the Wings of Love" in 1982. Osborne's touring and recording continue to keep him busy much of the time, but he also devotes some of his time to charity work.

Love's last episode
There's nowhere to go, oh no
You made a choice (should've)
And now it's up to me (ooh)
To bow out gracefully
Although you hold the key
Whenever you call me, I'll be there
Whenever you want me, I'll be there
Whenever you need me, I'll be there
I'll be around
I (should've)
I knew just what to say (yeah)
And now I found out today
All the words just slipped away
I know there's always a chance
A tiny spark will remain (oh)
And sparks turn into flames (ah)
And love can burn once again
You know
Whenever you call me, I'll be there
Whenever you want me, I'll be there
Whenever you need me, I'll be there
I'll be around, oh-oh-oh-oh
Just call me, call me, call me, ooh yeah
Whenever you call me, I'll be there
Whenever you want me, I'll be there
Whenever you need me, I'll be there
I'll be around
Just call me on the telephone
(Call me)
(If you call, then I'll be there)
(Call me)
(If you want my love and care)
(Need me)
Baby, baby, baby, baby I'll be around
(Don't you know, I'll be around)
(I'll be around, I'll be around)
Oh, ohh (call me)
Ooh I'll be around, I'll be around (if you call)
(Call me, if you want)
Ooh baby, whenever you need me, know I'll be around (need me)
(Don't you know) Ohh, I'll be around
(I'll be around, I'll be around)
Pick up the phone and dial 911 (call me)
And I'll come runnin' runnin' runnin' runnin' to ya girl
Ooh baby, whenever you need me, know I'll be around
The lyrics of Jeffrey Osborne's song "I'll Be Around" tell a story of a relationship at a crossroads. The first lines establish the situation as a crucial moment where love seems to be coming to an end. It is clear that a choice has been made, possibly by the other person involved, and now it is up to the singer to gracefully accept the situation. The phrase "Although you hold the key" suggests that the power to change the outcome lies with the other person.
However, the chorus reveals the singer's willingness to be there for the person they love, regardless of the circumstances. They promise to always be available, to answer the call, and be there whenever needed. There is a hint of regret and longing in the verses, as the singer admits that they should have known what to say before, but somehow the words abandoned them. Despite this, there is still hope that a small spark of love remains, which can potentially reignite and turn into a flame once again.
Overall, the lyrics convey a sense of dedication and unconditional love, with the singer promising to always be there for the person they care about, regardless of the current situation.

Sensitive thats what I am
Make no mistake about it
Cause little things
Certainly mean so much to me
Maybe I should tell you
That I have my faults
And there are no guarantees
Oh Babay can't you see
I'm only human
Don't ask me for too much too fast
I'm only human babe
I'll be so carefull not to ever hurt you
Emotional thats what I am Feelings run deep inside me
I trust my heart and usually It never lets me down
But every now and then, I guess, I lose my way
Like people often do
And that just goes to prove
I'm only human
Don't ask me for too much too fast
I'm only human
Hey babe
I'll be so very carefull not to ever hurt you baby
You know I love you Its easy to see
That I do
And I'll always be the best I can
But girl I'm just a man
So darling please be patient If we both beleive
We will make changes as we go
Oh, I just want you to know
I'm only human
Don't ask me for too much too fast
I'm only human uh ohh
I'll be so very carefull with you baby
I'm only human baby
Don't ask me for too much too fast
I'm only human oh baby
I'm just a man baby
And I'll be the very best I can Baby
