Born in Providence, RI, Jeffrey Osborne was the youngest of 12 children and was constantly bombarded with music as he was growing up. He had five brothers and six sisters, some of whom went on to have music careers. His father, Clarence "Legs" Osborne, was a popular trumpeter who played with Lionel Hampton, Count Basie, and Duke Ellington, and died when Jeffrey was only 13. His mother, Wanita, is ancestored by a Pequot Indian sachem. His oldest brother, Clay Osborne, is a singer and pianist, and Billy, another brother, is a songwriter and producer in Los Angeles. But Osborne's father had the greatest influence on his musical career; Clarence "Legs" Osborne turned down many top band offers during his career to be with his family. It was only after receiving his mother's encouragement that Jeffrey left for Los Angeles to play with L.T.D. At the age of 15, he sat in with the O'Jays when the drummer was too tired to play, and went on to play with them for two weeks. It was at a Providence nightclub that fate brought him together with the band Love Men Ltd. in 1969.
Osborne's solo career has brought him five gold and platinum albums, including Stay With Me Tonight, Aymuk, and Only Human. He also recorded an album of duets with popular singer James Ingram, and scored an international hit with "On the Wings of Love" in 1982. Osborne's touring and recording continue to keep him busy much of the time, but he also devotes some of his time to charity work.

In this game of love everybody plays
There are no guarantees
The king and queen of hearts
They can be torn apart
It's a crazy game and I'm here to say
But there's something you just
Got to do
You got to keep the fire going
Keep the lovelight glowing
Make it work 'cause love is worth it all
You gotta keep the fire burning
Keep the passion yearning
Make it work 'cause love is worth it all
Ooh, it's worth it all
Oh did I explain it's a couple game
It's two against the world
Together me and you
We'll get each other through
And if we are wise we won't compromise
We've gotta winning hand
There's just some things we both
Got to do
We got to keep the fire going
Keep the lovelight glowing
Make it work 'cause love is worth it all
You gotta keep the fire burning
Keep the passion yearning
Make it work 'cause love is worth it all
I'm just saying (saying)
It's so easy to run
And let love come undone
But somewhere down the line
You're gonna have to face it
Once again so why not get it right
'Cause the love game is for life
Do the few little things
That will keep your love alive
Listen to me
You got to keep the fire going
Keep the lovelight glowing (Keep glowing)
Make it work 'cause love is worth it all
You gotta keep the fire burning
Keep the passion yearning (keep the passion yearning)
Make it work 'cause love is worth it all
Love is worth it all
Oh oh

The lyrics to Jeffrey Osborne's song "Worth It All" convey a message about the challenges and rewards of love. It portrays love as a game that everyone plays, where there are no guarantees, and even the strongest couples can be torn apart. However, despite the unpredictable nature of love, the song emphasizes the importance of putting effort into maintaining a relationship.
The first verse suggests that love is a crazy game without any rules, but there is something essential that needs to be done. The chorus emphasizes the need to keep the fire of love alive and the lovelight glowing, as well as to make it work because love is worth it all. The second verse mentions that love is a couple's game, with the two partners against the world. It encourages the couple to support and guide each other, without compromising their values or the strength of their relationship.
The bridge addresses the temptation to run away from love and let it come undone, but it highlights the importance of facing and overcoming challenges in order to get it right. The song concludes with a reminder to do the little things that keep love alive and advises listeners to actively listen.
Overall, "Worth It All" serves as a reminder that love requires effort and commitment, with the promise that it is all worth it in the end.
