The Mirror
Jeremy & Progressor Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the greatest of them all
3D printer printing liquor, when they're drunk we'll see who's better
Mary let me see your lamb, post it up on Instagram
You'll be Jane, I'll be Peter, you'll be dating Spiderman

I'ma go hunt for the Boogeyman
Got rid of sin by committing sin
I don't need no safety pin, no one ain't see me comin' whoa
I don't really know who's on top of this shit, bipolar, could've starred for the 'Split'
Your mom hired me to babysit, like Samara with the Samurai shit
Feelin' numb, I don't feel no threat, so deadly, kill you with a baguette
Adrenaline rush got me oxygen debt, flow so sick got me cold sweat
Why don't keep it slow, still got time to make the dough, ayy
See me face to face or just stand here toe to toe, ayy
Playin' hot potato but we using C4, ayy
What is outflow, all we know is inflow, ayy
Lock the door, you know they'll come for sure All these entrepreneur, be feelin' insecure
I may be immature, though I respect for sure, role as an amateur, who knows that I'm a pro

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the greatest of them all
3D printer printing liquor, when they're drunk we'll see who's better
Mary let me see your lamb, post it up on Instagram
You'll be Jane, I'll be peter, you'll be dating Spiderman

I don't really know who's on top of this shit
Trying to figure out how to break the market, hijack the cockpit
Don't fit the outfit, buckle up cause this boy takin' over this shit
See you later on your deathbed, don't chase me you'll be upset
I'll be on my jet, flying to Baghdad while I'm eating homemade omelette
Why don't keep it slow, still got time to make the dough, ayy
See me face to face or just stand here toe to toe, ayy
Playin' hot potato but we using C4, ayy
What is outflow, all we know is inflow, ayy

Never wanna stick to the stereotypes, not every one of us look alike
When it comes to the game I'm a prototype, implanted extendo on my windpipe

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "The Mirror" by Jeremy & Progressor are full of complex and metaphorical imagery that delve into themes of self-reflection, power dynamics, insecurity, and rebellion. The opening lines, "Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the greatest of them all" draw on the classic fairy tale motif of the mirror as a reflection of one's worth and status. The use of a 3D printer printing liquor symbolizes a superficial and materialistic pursuit of status and validation, where being drunk may reveal one's true abilities and worth compared to others.

The reference to Mary and her lamb being posted on Instagram points to the modern obsession with social media and image cultivation for validation. The comparison of oneself to Jane and Peter, and dating Spiderman, suggests a desire for adventure and excitement in relationships. The mention of hunting for the Boogeyman and getting rid of sin by committing sin reflects a rebellious and morally ambiguous attitude towards societal norms and expectations.

The lines about feeling numb, deadly, and adrenaline rush depict a sense of detachment and danger, possibly as a coping mechanism or as a way to assert oneself in a competitive and uncertain world. The references to babysitting, Samurai, baguettes, and cold sweat create a vivid and chaotic picture of a character navigating through various roles and challenges while also questioning their place and identity in the world.

Overall, "The Mirror" showcases a complex and multifaceted exploration of self-perception, power dynamics, and the quest for validation and success, set against a backdrop of rebellion, uncertainty, and the need to break free from societal expectations and limitations. It challenges the listener to question their own identity, values, and motivations in a world that often prizes superficiality and conformity.

Imagine how much pain Kevin Von Erich has gone through, losing all his younger brothers. The biggest tragedy in Wrestling History

@hbkc83

Yea for real and even losing his older brother! Can't imagine losing every single one of em! More power to him 🙏🏾

@kennethfloyd8677

Like Kevin said shortly after Kerry killed himself, "All my life I've been a big brother and now I'm not even a brother."

@JagerLange

That for me was the saving grace of the Dark Side episode - to see Kevin now has an almost Paradise-like homelife, even if he does have to carry all of his with him. Was great to see him and family happy today.

@hazardtriplezero

Not just his brothers, but fellow wrestlers amd industry people. There's not a lot still standing from his days and few of those died of natural causes after a long life and happy pain-free retirement.

@tommydeamon7657

I don't want too imagine his pain i bet most would hide in a hole and speak to no one ever again if the whent through a 1/4 of what he,s suffered

@ReaperX7

The eeriest part of Kerry's death is the fact before he took his own life, he said he could hear the voices of his brothers calling to him from the grave to join them. 😕

@Jill65

I seen an interview with his daughter, Hollie and she said he was seeing spiders crawling on him and hearing voices. She said he was really heavy into drugs like meth and crack besides the pain meds as well. She also said he was very abusive towards his wife. I wonder where he got that from? His dad I'm sure.

@kascerichter342

The abuse can from the drugs. The daughter said he got abusive later in the marriage after he got into drugs heavy.
