Jeremy has recently joined forces with Herb Graham, Jr. in groovalicious LA electro rock outfit, ONS.
On his three solo albums, the self-titled debut, Perfect Flux Thing, and Another True Fiction, Toback brings his gravel-edged voice to songs with a hint of folk, jazz and rock. Intelligent lyrically, and musically satifying, Toback remains an unappreciated singer-songwriter on growlers such as 1997's Eden Trampoline.
Come Around
Jeremy Toback Lyrics

Well, I'm still learning to recognize a fire
Then you say that I got my back to the simple cure
Well, are you trying
To turn me?
'Cause I'll come around
I'll come around
I'll come around
I'll come around
I'll come around
I'll come around
When your mind is wound around the problem
And the words won't ease pain
They just redirect the flow
Take your shut heart to the shore of your river
Lay down armor
Let loss go
'Cause I'll come around
I'll come around
I'll come around
When you least expect me to
I'll come around
I'll come around
I'll come around
Now all good reason takes us closer to the edge
So breathe deep, baby
Let love in
And I'll come around
The lyrics of Jeremy Toback’s song Come Around present a story about a conversation between two people - one trying to convince the other to let go of their guardedness and allow love in. The first few lines of the song show the doubt and resistance of the person being talked to, “You say that peace springs forever in this spark, Well, I'm still learning to recognize a fire” and “Then you say that I got my back to the simple cure, well, are you trying to turn me?” However, the person trying to persuade the other remains persistent, “'cause I'll come around when you least expect me to.”
The second part of the song brings a new dimension to the storyline. It advises the person being spoken to that instead of being bound by their problems and pain, it is better to let them go and allow oneself to feel love. The phrase “Take your shut heart to the shore of your river, lay down armor, let loss go” emphasizes this point. The song concludes by urging the person to take a deep breath, let love in and promises to come around. The character development in this song is also noteworthy since the person initially on the defensive ends up being transformed through the conversations and decides to let love in.
