Stay Just a Little Bit Longer
Jessie Hock Orchestra Lyrics

Stay, Just a Little Bit Longer
(Please)
Please, Please, Please, Please
Tell Me You're going to.

Now, How Your daddy don't mind
And Your mommy don't mind
If We have another dance
Yeah, Just one more
One more time.

Oh, Won't You stay
Just a little bit longer
Please let Me hear
You say that You will
Say You will.

Won't You press Your sweet lips
To Mine
Won't You Say You Love Me
All of the time.

Stay, Just a Little Bit Longer
(Please)
Please, Please, Please, Please
Tell Me You're going to.

Come on, Come on,
Come on and ... Yey-yey-yeh
Come on, Come on,
Come on and stay-yey-yey-yeh
Come on, Come on,

Come on and stay, woops!
Come on, come on, Come on...

Overall Meaning

The Jessie Hock Orchestra's song "Stay Just a Little Bit Longer" is a plea to a lover to stay a bit longer with the singer. The opening lyrics repeat the titular phrase as well as beg the lover to tell the singer that they will stay. The singer then addresses the lover's family, stating that they do not mind if the two dance together one more time.

The chorus repeats the plea to the lover to stay and expressly asks them to say that they will. The following stanza is the singer making their final plea by asking the lover to kiss them and to say that they love them all the time. The song ends with the chorus repeated once more, followed by the singer urging the lover to come and stay with them.

Overall, the song is a yearning for more time with someone the singer loves. The repeated use of the word "please" and the various pleas to make the lover stay highlight the singer's desperation for more time with them.
