Hailing from Boston, Jillian began singing in her family’s home studio at the age of six. She recalls with a laugh, “My father had me record a song about saving the rainforests!” Nevertheless, her love of music was sparked, and she soon committed her life to the field. Developing herself first as a vocalist and performer, Jillian graduated with honors from the prestigious Peabody Conservatory of Music, winning the George Castelle Memorial Award in voice... But a wandering eye led her to the arena of computer music, and she soon began to supplement her classical studies with compositional ones.
With her debut albums Origins and Through Sand and Snow, Jillian responds to the lack of lyric-centric works in contemporary New Age/World music. Allowing her powerful voice to soar through beds of exotic instrumentation, both albums rely upon her instrument and lyrics not only as the definitive lead, but also as an amalgam of other backing textures, enveloping the listener in her warm sound.
Jillian's music is being broadcast to more than 8 million listeners worldwide, spanning over 70 stations including XM and Sirius satellite radio - a list that is rapidly growing. Origins debuted at #8 on the New Age Reporter radio charts for two consecutive months and has been consistently ranking in the top 10 on numerous stations, while Jillian was named “Best Futuristic New Age Singer” on iNewAge.com, a reviewer dubbing her “better than Enya.” The album received the #1 New Age Album spot of the year on NewAgeMusic.nu, above a great many tried and true artists.
Jillian has also amassed a passionate fan base online. In the listener-voted music competition OurStage.com, she triumphed over twenty thousand songs to win the $5,000 Grand Prize, and has garnered the New Age/World Prize thrice over. With other awards including third place in the Indie International Songwriting Contest, Mystic Soundscapes’ Best of 2007 and 2008 Awards, and dozens of online features, Jillian Aversa is steadily becoming both a critical and popular favorite – and redefining what we think of New Age music along the way.

Shadows
Jillian Goldin Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I see glowing streetlights, blurring the pain.
Children on the corner,
Staring as I drive away,
Hand prints on the window -
They all fade to gray.
Have you ever seen a shadow?
Have you ever seen a shadow,
And left one behind?
And left one behind?.
Shifting, changing, never the same,
And the cold wind wonders how they became.
Wishing for an answer,
Hoping one day it'll change,
Praying for the flesh and the blood to fill them.
Have you ever seen a shadow?
Have you ever known what they know?
Have you ever seen a shadow,
And left one behind?
And left one behind?.
Have you ever seen a shadow?
Have you ever known what they know?
Have you ever seen a shadow,
And left one behind?
And left one behind?.
The song "Shadows" by Jillian Goldin is a contemplative piece that reflects on the transient nature of life. The first verse sets the scene with figures moving under the rain, and the singer sees glowing streetlights that blur the pain. The children on the corner stare as the singer drives away, leaving handprints on the window that eventually fade to gray. The verse hints at the ephemeral nature of life, with everything eventually fading away.
The second verse focuses on shadows, which are shifting and changing, never the same. The cold wind wonders how they became, perhaps implying that life is a mystery. The singer wishes for an answer and hopes that one day it will change. The final line is a call for life to be filled with flesh and blood, again emphasizing the transient nature of shadows and life.
Overall, the song is a meditation on the fleeting nature of existence, the impermanence of things we hold dear, and the mystery of it all. It's a reminder to savor the present moment and to leave a meaningful mark on the world.

Quickly becoming my favorite artist! I eagerly await your next work! Jillian's singing really is wonderful and makes me, a person who doesn't really sing, want to sing loud and proud. <3

This is my favorite Zircon track, with difference. It's so melancholic, its message so powerful... This may be personal bias, but when I listen to it, I can't help but imagine the predicaments of the millions of homeless people that currently try to survive as well as they humanly can.

Just letting you know Zircon, I'm a huge fan and have been for about a year and a half now. Slowly I have seen your evolution as a musician and I find it amazing. They say you can only get better with time and your doing better then ever. Jillian's voice complements the soothing song perfectly. And by the way, I have told at least 50 people about you in the past week. I'll do my best to keep spreading the word, you deserve to be big.

You're always an inspiration, Zircon. And Jillian's voice is always amazing! I bought Antigravity and I can tell I'm going to be buying this one, too. Thanks for doing the awesome stuff you do.

Got this way back when it was free (as an unreleased on your site) and im buying it again just to support you. One of the best songs you've ever made. Any chance at an instrumental version (with a synth playing the melody). I would guess it's so old that it would be difficult to find the project file, but if you could it would be much appreciated :) Now waiting relatively impatiently for The End to be released (i think that's what it was called on the contest page).
