Rainbow Connection

Songs about rainbows
And what's on the other side
Rainbows are visions
They're only illusions
And rainbows have nothing to hide
So we've been told and some chose to
Believe it
Someday we'll find it
The Rainbow Connection
The lovers, the dreamers and me
Who said that every wish
Would be heard and answered
When wished on the morning star
Somebody thought of that
And someone believed it
And look what it's done so far
What's so amazing
That keeps us star gazing
What so we think we might see
Someday we'll find it
That Rainbow Connection
The lovers the dreamers and me
Have you been fast asleep
And have you heard voices,
I've heard them calling my name
Is this the sweet sound that calls
The young sailors
The voice might be one and the same
I've heard it too many times to ignore it
It's something that I'm supposed to be
Someday we'll find it
The rainbow connection
The lovers, the dreamers and me
La lala la lala la la la lala la la la
The song “The Rainbow Connection” is a poignant and philosophical song that explores the wonders of the rainbow and what lies beyond it. The opening lines replicate a common question that strikes our minds out of curiosity, asking the reason behind people's fascination with rainbows and whether there is anything special beyond them. Kermit the Frog suggests that rainbows are mere illusions that bring no mystery or secrets with them.
The second verse of the song talks about something that is truly wonderful, something that inspires people, which is the idea that wishes can come true. The singer remarks that someone believed that every wish made on a morning star would come true, and wonders what amazing things lie beyond the stars that people gaze at in wonder. The voice that the singer hears calling his name seems to suggest that he is meant for something special, something that's beyond his present imagination, and the song encourages the listener to keep searching until they find it.
Overall, the song captures the beautiful essence of life and the human experience, encouraging us to keep searching for answers and finding meaning in the ordinary aspects of our lives.

This song was played immediately after Frank Oz's touching and emotional tribute to Jim. I became choked up when this song started playing because it caused me to remember the first time my mother showed me the beginning of "The Muppet Movie and "Kermit" sang this song. Jim was a wonderful man indeed!
