Their performance, their visual image, their on and offstage behaviour were all carefully designed to elicit the maximum level of shocked outrage from a public long since bored with the standard media fare of moral decadence. Sadomasochism, transvestitism, self-mutilation, drug abuse, inebriation, simulated sex and mock rape all took starring roles in Jimmy And The Boys' blisteringly paced tribute to cultural degeneracy. The band was known for often causing audience riots in the more homophobic venues they played.
Though the group only recorded two studio albums, Not Like Everybody Else from 1980 and 1981's Teddy Boys' Picnic, they were one of the most popular live acts in Australia. In 1981 they scored their only top 10 single with "They Won't Let My Girlfriend Talk to Me", written by Split Enz leader, Tim Finn.
The double-jointed, bisexual Jones was born of Spanish parents in Manila. It was obvious even in the 70s that if he were not fronting a band he would certainly be a celebrated figure in another avenue of the performing arts (he went on to starring roles in musical theatre, cabaret and on national television as well as being actively involved in areas of fine art and dance).
Jimmy and the Boys disbanded in January 1982 and, shortly after, Jones moved to the theatre stage, playing the dual roles of Eddie and Dr. Scott in the Australian revival of The Rocky Horror Show. At the end of 1982 the band temporarily reformed for a national tour, which resulted in a live album, In Hell with Your Mother. Following the second and final break up of the band, Warner Bros. Records signed Jones to a six-album record deal, of which little actually materialised, although Jones had a near-hit with his 1982 single "Like a Ghost".

Who's the one that call the brawl
Who's the one that cheers us
Who's the one that tell you that you're not the one that tell us all
Who's the one that tell you that you're not supposed to be around
Will the next song ever get typed
Who's the one that careless
Open and never misses
Well for two eyes open
The American past you
When you be saying all these things you be talking to the mirror
Mirror mirror on the wall Who's the fairest of them all
The bear mirror on the wall
Who's the one to call bro, who's the one to care
So who's the one to tell you that you're not the one to tell us
No, who's the one to tell you that you're not supposed to be
Never miss never trip never slip
Keep your eyes open at all times
Figures This is a tidbit but I love this trippy feeling
Who's the one
That is careless
With his wonderful a care-eyes open
And never miss anything
Who's the one
That tells you that you're not supposed to be here
That you're not supposed to even be here
Mirror, mirror on the wall Who's the fairest of them all
Who is the one that callin', brah? Who's the one that cheers, son
Who's the one that tell you, that you're not the one that tells a song
Who's the one that tell you, that you're not supposed to be around him
Mirror on the wall Who is the fairest of them all
Who is the one that callin', brah? Who is the one that cheers, son
Who is the one that tell you, that you're not the one that tells a song
Who's the one to tell you that you're not supposed to be here
Keep your eyes open, don't be snoopin
If you think that's cool, you must be trippin
Mask off, mask off, KD, I'm about to ball
Ain't no brawl, I'm about to knock you off so hard that you boutta leave
Yeah
Look in the mirror
Look in the mirror
Take a look at yourself
Make a better change
Better change how you wear
Ha ha ha
No, no, no, no
Thank you
The song "Mirror Mirror" by Jimmy & The Boys is a reflective and deeply introspective tune that invites listeners to ponder on the choices they have made in their lives. The lyrics showcase the universal nature of the human experience, with every line presenting a dichotomy of contrasting actions or emotions. The first stanza speaks of every good deed, every bad action, every truth, every lie, every victory, and every defeat being etched in our memories. The second stanza emphasizes the fleeting nature of time and how every moment counts, and how we could fill it, thrill it, or kill it without realizing.
The titular phrase "Mirror, mirror on the wall," is an allusion to the classic fairy tale Snow White, where the evil queen used a magic mirror to seek validation and to affirm her beauty. In this song, however, the mirror is a metaphor for self-reflection, a way to look back at our past and see the person we have become. The chorus emphasizes that what comes after this moment is not as important as what has gone before, and that we should focus on the image that the mirror reflects.
In summary, "Mirror Mirror" is a thought-provoking song that encourages listeners to explore their emotions, actions, and decisions. It emphasizes the power of self-reflection and the importance of introspection in shaping our lives.

An introspective tone, judging oneself
Is there someone here at all?
Is there true person inside, or just a facade
Mirror, mirror can you see
Wanting to be sure with how one is perceived
The soul I've left inside of me
Looking for the inner being that was left behind
(Mirror, mirror can you see)
Repeating the former statement to put emphasis on its importance
(Mirror, mirror look at me)
A plea to prove the observer's self-worth
Every day, every year, each and every minute
The time that passed by every day, year, and moment
Every second ever silent as they come and go
Every still moment happened irreversibly
We can fill it, we can thrill it, we can still it
We can use, enjoy and stop time
We can kill it And never know
We can waste and disturb time, without realizing it
In the tears or the laughter
Whether it's heartache or happiness
And of all that comes after
And what else will occur later in life
All that really matters
What really does hold importance in one's life
Is the mirror on your wall
The worth of oneself is what's critical to see
[Chorus]
A repetition of the principal lyrics for emphasis
