WAY DOWN HERE
YOU NEED A REASON TO MOVE
FEEL A FOOL
RUNNIN' YOUR STATE SIDE GAME
LOSE YOUR LOAD
LEAVE YOUR MIND BEHIND, BABY JAMES
OH MEXICO
IT SOUNDS SO SIMPLE
I JUST GOT TO GO
THE SUN'S SO HOT
I FORGOT TO GO HOME
GUESS I'LL HAVE TO GO NOW
Verse
AMERICANO'S GOT THE SLEEPY EYES
BUT HIS BODY'S STILL SHAKEN LIKE A LIVE WIRE
SENIORITA WITH HER EYES ON FIRE, DON'T YOU KNOW
Chorus
OH MEXICO
IT SOUNDS SO SWEET
WITH THE SUN SINKIN' LOW
THE MOONS SO BRIGHT
LIKE TO LIGHT UP THE LIGHT
MAKE EVERYTHING ALL RIGHT
Verse
BABYS HUNGRY
AND THE MONEY'S ALL GONE
THE FOLKS BACK HOME
DON'T WANT TO TALK ON THE PHONE
SHE GETS A LONG LETTER
SENDS BACK A POST CARD
TIMES ARE HARD
Chorus
OH DOWN IN MEXICO
I NEVER REALLY BEEN
SO I DON'T REALLY KNOW
OOOOHHHHHH MEXICO
I GUESS I'LL HAVE TO GO NOW
OOOOHHHHHH MEXICO
I'VE NEVER REALLY BEEN
BUT I'D SURE LIKE TO GO
WOOOOHHHHHH MEXICO
I GUESS I'LL HAVE TO GO NOW
The lyrics of Jimmy Buffett's song "Mexico" describe the allure and escape of Mexico from the perspective of an American who is feeling restless and disillusioned with their life "state side". The first verse sets the scene, by suggesting that to find a reason to move, to find adventure, and to escape worries and pressures, one needs to leave the familiar, and venture away from one's usual routines. The second verse speaks of the people that the singer encounters in Mexico, and their vibrant and passionate energy, which he finds infectious. The chorus echoes the sentiment of the first verse, as the song's narrator betrays a sense of being enticed by the idea of Mexico, and is compelled to go despite the lack of planning or preparation.
At its heart, the song is a meditation on seeking out the unknown and embracing the journey towards self-discovery, adventure and escape. It captures the spirit of wanderlust and the thrill of exploring new places, seeking new experiences and having the freedom to be who you want to be.

Thanks soooo much for the upload!!!
It made me cry... but that's only because... it's very hard for me to see him without getting extremely emotional.
This man and his music... cold extremely special memories for me.
I've really been through a lot in my life... but I made it through every time... because all I had to do was listen to Jimmy and I knew I'll make it through everything.
I feel incredibly lucky to have been able to see Jimmy live many times.
We miss you Jimmy!
Legacy will live on through us parrotheads!
I had to stop... I was bawling my eyes out watching..๐ข

Itโs so crazy to think that this was 6 months before he passed. I can only imagine the physical symptoms he was internally fighting through during this time, with cancer. It shows how much he truly loved performing. But more importantly, I think he understood how important his concerts were to his fans. How seeing him live was an event that they planned all year for. Those few hours of happiness and escapism. He understood what it meant for so many of us. And so he powered through. What an amazing man, and what a huge hole his absence will leave. Thank you Jimmy! Thanks for all the music, the memories, and playing on until the very end! You are loved so much!!!

Your words make it an emotional reading for this parrothead. He seemed to be such a humbled and loving man to those he made happy, and in turn, also made him happy. I really think he enjoy the happiness of his fans and their eccentric attire at his shows. Ive seen videos where he got involved with some of the tailgating. He was just a big party that never seemed as if it was ever gonna stop until..........it did. Youre so right though. This man struggled through it for as long as he could cause it was his passion...his fate. Jimmy was a smart man and had made his money long long ago. He didnt have to keep doing this for over 50 yrs. He chose to. I, like many, remain so lost and hurt over the loss of our dear, good friend, James William Buffett. He was a staple in my life.
