Somebody Else’s Guy
Jocelyn Brown Lyrics

You are the one who
You are the one who makes me feel so real, yeah yeah yeah
Oh, what am I supposed to do
Oh, what am I supposed to do, baby
When I'm so hooked up on you
That you are somebody else's guy, oh, yeah
Why you want to do this to me, boy
(Somebody else's guy)
Can you remember the times we've spent together
Sharin' the days in the sun
But then I found out that you were somebody else's love
After all our plans we've made, now they're shattered
But still I can't get off my high horse, I can't let go
You are the one who makes me feel so real
Ooh, what am I supposed to do when I'm hooked so on you
And then I realized that you're somebody else's guy
That day in September, I'm sure you can remember
That's when all the stuff hit you fast
You told me a lie and you didn't have an alibi
But baby, yet I still cared
You know, I loved you so, baby, that I can't let you go, no, no
You are the one who makes me feel so real
Ooh, what am I supposed to do when I'm hooked so on you
And I realize that you're somebody else's guy
You know, I loved you so, baby, that I can't let you go, no
You are the one who make me feel so real
Ooh, what am I supposed to do when I'm hooked so on you
And then I realized that you're somebody else's guy
Oh, I can't get off my high horse and I can't let go
You are the one who makes me feel so real
Ooh, what am I supposed to do when I'm hooked so on you
And I realized that you're somebody else's guy, oh
I can't let you go, no
You are the one who makes me feel so real
Ooh, what am I supposed to do when I'm hooked so on you
And then I realized that you're somebody else's guy, oh
Oh, I can't get off my high horse and I can't let go
You are the one who makes me feel so real
Ooh, what am I supposed to do when I'm hooked so on you
And realized that you're somebody else's guy
Ooh ah
And realized that you're somebody else's guy, oh
Ooh ah
Ooh and realized that you're somebody else's guy, oh
Oh, oh babe babe babe
You are the one who makes me feel so real
What am I supposed to do when I'm hooked so on you
And realized that you're somebody else's guy
Oh, I can't get off my high horse and I can't let go
You are the one who makes me feel so real
Ooh, what am I supposed to do when I'm hooked so on you
And realized that you're somebody else's guy
Oh, I can't get off my high horse and I can't let go
The lyrics to Jocelyn Brown's song "Somebody Else's Guy" describe the inner turmoil of a woman who is deeply in love with a man who is already in a committed relationship with someone else. She cannot seem to let go of him, even though she recognizes that he is not hers to have. The repetitive line, "I can't get off my high horse and I can't let you go," emphasizes the struggle she faces in attempting to move on from him. She is conflicted between her desire to be with him and her awareness that he belongs to somebody else.
The lyrics also reference the shared history and experiences she has had with him, making the pain of the situation even more acute. The line, "Can you remember the times we've spent together, sharin' the days in the sun," demonstrates how close they have become, yet the revelation that he is someone else's love shatters their relationship. However, even after he has lied to her and offered no explanation for his actions, she still cannot let him go.
Overall, "Somebody Else's Guy" is a powerful song about unrequited love and the difficulty of coming to terms with the fact that someone you care about belongs to another. It emphasizes the complexity of emotions that arise in such a situation and the struggle to reconcile one's feelings with the reality of the situation.

This woman sang this song. She rocks my world every time i hear the intro. I only have one problem. That is when she says 'i cant get off my high horse n i cant let go' - well im not in that league cuz i can let him go back to her or whoever. I kept hearing these words in my head while i was getting ice cream. Jocelyn sounds so good when shes putting emphasis on her pain w/her voice. I can feel every word she sings. It hurts so bad when we get played. Sometimes the hurt never stops or goes away. Praying for us all to have relief from the pain of fakery.
