"Joe Wilson is a 25 year-old singer/songwriter from Bogota, New Jersey and the ex-front man for now defunct acoustic-rock duo, Feeling Left Out. On April 11, 2006, Wilson will release his solo debut, 'A Day In My Shoes' and tour the U.S. throughout the spring and summer of 2006.
During his five-year stint as Feeling Left Out, Wilson accumulated over 500,000 listens on his PureVolume music website, and amassed an army of zealous fans willing to cross state lines to see him perform. It was this independent success that prompted major label interest in hopes of developing the next Dashboard Confessional or Bright Eyes.
However, following band mate Bill Putrino's departure from the group in October of 2004, Wilson found himself at a career crossroads. Should he continue as Feeling Left Out or evolve into a solo artist? His decision: to build upon the strength of his name and forsake the reputation he had created as a band.
What resulted was Wilson's greatest achievement to date; an 11-song masterpiece influenced by everything "beautiful and shitty about life". A more mature sound emerged as Wilson grew beyond the emotional genre that pigeonholed Feeling Left Out.
Yet, 'A Day In My Shoes' exemplified exactly what Wilson's fans knew and loved about his music; poignant and relatable lyrics accompanied by passionate melodies that inspire intense connections with listeners, mixtape compilations and road-trip sing-alongs.
Joe Wilson makes indie folk music for the post-emo set. But classifications aside, there's no denying the catchiness and genuine sincerity of every song on 'A Day In My Shoes', for Wilson's optimism is as contagious in real life as it is on tape. "

Seattle
Joe Wilson Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
A mutual promise that for weeks will be fine
I leave with a kiss
And I'm always running here to there
Never know when and if I'm getting anywhere
But you still tell me to
Live it up and bring down the house now
You ready? When you come around you can
Sleep while I drive to the next town
Being pushed inwards and touch
Never tried to stretch a dollar this much
But you only want more money than you can spend
Its your debt that gets you in the end
The end but you can't take it with you
Your saving up dollars but they cant save your soul
And if you learn one thing before you get old
Give out the love in your heart before it gets cold
Live it up and bring down the house now
Pack it up and follow the lights back home
You ready? When you come around you can
Sleep while I drive to the next town
The song "Seattle" by Joe Wilson can be interpreted as being about the difficulties and challenges of a life on the road as a musician, with themes of love, money, and the search for meaning. The first verse describes a bittersweet goodbye between two people, with the promise that they will be okay despite being apart for several weeks. The singer then describes his own experience of constantly moving from place to place as a performer, but never feeling like he's really making progress. Despite this, he is urged to "live it up" and bring down the house with his performances.
In the second verse, the focus shifts to the ever-present issue of money. The singer describes the feeling of being constantly pushed inward, of having to stretch every dollar to its limit. However, he also recognizes the danger of becoming too obsessed with money, and advises listeners to focus on giving out love instead. The chorus repeats the message of living in the moment and following your dreams, despite the inevitable challenges that come with them.
