As a retired aerospace engineer reviewing the available public information, it's apparent that Boeing, and the FAA, violated their own procedures, made assumptions about what was important and what could be overlooked, and thus took unnecessary risks that resulted in aircraft failure with the loss of hundreds of lives -- which upon review -- were avoidable.

This really bordered on criminal behavior, what with the lies, with the coverups, with the deceptions and self-deceptions from the general officers down to the manufacturing floor.

Aircraft are incredibly complex systems that require strict compliance with the rules and regulations and review of the data for h/w, s/w, firmware, system integration procedures, etc., etc.

Absent that, the flying public can only hope that some hidden fatal weakness in the aircraft will not occur at 40,000 feet at 500 mph, when the margins for error suddenly disappear and aircraft control is lost.

Or if your like someone like me who comes from a family that has built planes for generations will realize what the main issue was (not training pilots about the new flawed system) and how the aircraft works. Its a very safe aircraft. Not to mention the competition has the ability to fix their issues without getting slammed by media.

@Evilroco Yeah now its if it "If it is boeing I ain't going". I fell safer on bombardier or airbus. The plane might be recertified and safe but out of spite I will never step foot on one. They don't deserve to make money on this plane. I always look for a airbus or bombardier when I'm flying regionally here in the states. The tickets always cost more when I picked those but its worth it.

You'll never get justice in a commercial airliner, even if you survive with lifelong disabilities to live with. Commercial passenger airline industry is the greediest among all of the transport industries, and that particularly goes for the aircraft manufacturers as well the regulatory bodies.

There was some pilot error though, on the Ethiopian flight they weren’t paying attention to their airspeed. Had they let autopilot off and paid attention to their speed, the crash wouldn’t have happened. It’s absolutely still a design flaw, but they aren’t completely in the clear.

As a 737 pilot, the main reason I have heard why the MCAS system was installed was to compensate for unusually high nose up moment tendencies created at high thrust setting by the new more powerful LEAP engines. If that is case it means the engines needed to be derated to a lower maximum thrust setting, or the thrust line of the powerplants need to be reconfigured by engineers to produce more manageable flying characteristics. Either way the 737 Max design violated some very basic long established rules. MCAS was installed to cure a basic design flaw that should never have been allowed to leave the engineering drawing board in my opinion. It's like a doctor prescribing medicine to reduce anxiety, and then give the patient an upper pill to cure their resulting depression.

Yes, it is even not possible to imagine the terror of the people on board of the flight knowing what's about to happen to them. Majority of these accidents are a result of a greedy industry, from aircraft manufacturers, airlines to regulatory bodies. Yet, most of the time they manage to find an easy scapegoat to blame, that is the piloting crew.

I was an Aircraft Electrician for four years with the USAF and seven more for the Dept. of the Navy. I never worked for Boeing, but I worked on many Boeing aircraft. I am terribly sorry to hear of your loss. It is a mechanic's worst nightmare to think that something he did caused a crash. I never worked on one that crashed, but I did help re-build two CH-46D's that had crashed beforehand.

The difference between when Boeing makes a mistake and the airbus makes one, airbus owns up and immediately try and fix it and ground all planes (or at least advise that there could be a problem) while Boeing prefers to get profit and blame it on the company who bought it.

Remember how Boeing tried to blame the pilots and that the airline was in Africa and 'backwards' - meanwhile the investigation showed that the pilots had managed to override the computer and manually fly it, but it was too low and too late.

In the other crashes, the plane computer couldn't be override, and the pilots fought against the plane (as seen on the flight trajectory, gaining altitude and then falling several times) .

You could make your same exact argument with that 737, and you would be in error, since that is now among the most successful aircraft. @Ricky Hall You're overthinking it. It's an airframe issue, not computer issue. Those engines need a new airframe that can fit it. Airbus A320NEO/NX had enough room under the wings to fit the new engines, so they didn't have to move the engine upward, the plane is still balanced. MAX didn't have enough room under the wings, so instead of redesigning the airframe, Boeing cut corner and moved the engine higher up, above the wing, unbalancing the airframe. This is why the NEO/NX ended up perfectly safe with the same engines, and MAX crashed twice in quick succession. How the MCAS, sensors and software failed doesn't matter, because those things should never have existed in the first place. That airframe, with those engines attached, is not airworthy. Period. They cut corners. People died.

The very fact that the system could not be overwritten as it was designed to be is clear evidence we haven't been told everything there is to know from this story. Developing conclusions when all the facts are unknown to us is foolishness. What we know is that there were technological failures, the causes of those failures and whom to blame are the real questions. Do any of us really believe a plane designer would build a plane with no redundancy for the failure of a single aot sensor? Or that mcas would somehow develop an additional bug which prevented pilots from disabling it precisely during the moment when that very system needed to be disabled? Having learnt to fly under the FAA & EASA i can tell you the FAA safety standards are very poor in comparison to EASA.

Listen, I am a Boeing guy. But this is definitely one time Boeing really messed up.

It doesn’t matter if you have a bias towards the company, you can’t argue that Boeing is definitely accountable. This reminds me of the DC-10’s cargo door flaw. How many lives need to be lost before Boeing fixes this problem. This is just another case of money/lives, and I will not stand with this. Boeing even knows this. In the 70s, Boeing’s competition was Douglas and Lockheed. After Boeing released the 747, Douglas released the DC-10 in a rush to compete ( in the max case, Boeing rushed to release a new 737 in time to compete with Airbus’ new A320 neo ) In the rush to compete, the DC-10’s cargo door had a design flaw that allowed it to open and break off in flight. After the first incident with the DC-10, the FAA ordered Douglas to fix the flaw, but two years later the (at the time) deadliest air crash ever was a DC-10 with the same flaw that was supposed to have been fixed 2 years ago.

Boeing knew what they were doing, and that was putting people in danger by not spending more time and falling behind the A320. Boeing should be held accountable, period.

It wasn't just software, the engine isn't designed for the airframe, Boeing simply retrofitted a larger engine to the an existing older wing, which obviously didn't work.

MCAS was indeed implemented to corrected the fact that the engine was too big and had to be moved forward and up, which causes the nose to lift. MCAS forces the nose down again. Oh yes, and I have 11K experience in command of 737s. Let us just believe your claim just as well as mine.

I don't have your 10k hours 737 experience to match, but I've seen the various reports and docs and docos that clearly indicate the MCAS system was implemented in a hurry to deal with the possible(or probable) tendency to stall due to new bigger engine placement on the wings toward the front of the wing. So, I'm not sure how you missed that info with your previous 10k experience. Besides, you're an airplane pilot doesn't mean you're an engineer. As for the comment about four engines, I do know what I'm talking about, and the idea of 4 engines came out of that. 6 or 8 engines is your idea, not mine. I know just enough about the wings of these aircraft that they cannot withstand such stress. I brought up the argument of 4 smaller engines to emphasize the fact that they can get away with the need of MCAS system had they aerodynamically re-engineered it. Of course, they would not, as it would've been too expensive for them, which was exactly the point that i was trying to make. I suspect you know they brought in these bigger single engine on a wing design to cut fuel by using a single powerful fuel efficient engine.
As you're laughing at my little bit of knowledge, I am laughing at your argument that they simply brought in the MCAS to 737 MAX as a "non-critical" addition and the aircraft would fly without any possible stall issues without the MCAS system. I guess, you are basically saying Boeing engineers are that stupid to install an unnecessary system that served no necessary purpose and that MCAS has caused two fatal crashes? I am putting forward the argument your 10k hours of experience has not done you lot of good to help analyze the data in front of you or you're simply biased for whatever the reason.
I hope your 10k hour experience can point out to you that installing a system like MCAS that critically take control of the plane and nose dive it simply CANNOT be a mere system that was put there to give the mere 'feeling' of older 737. @DD Andrews Have you ever the saying “A little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing”? Because I’m afraid you have a little bit of knowledge and have no idea what you’re talking about. The comment “four smaller engines” is especially laughable. Maybe even six or eight engines would better according to your VERY seriously flawed logic.
For the last time: the 737 doesn’t “need” MCAS to be safe. It would NOT be required, by Boeing or indeed any of the many regularity agencies if it were a one off type.
MCAS was added for only one reason: to make it feel like the older generations of 737s. Pilots can hop straight out of an “NG” (737-800) or even a “classic” (737-300/400) into a Max. The aircraft need to feel similar and have similar characteristics, hence the addition of MCAS.
BTW I do know what I’m talking about with way over 10k hours in command on many variations of 737, but of course I’m debating this with armchair experts who have little if any idea what they’re talking about.

@FutureSystem738 Work, just OK, not "fine". But, not OK for a passenger aircraft that carries hundreds of people. They would NOT go to the trouble of installing MCAS if there weren't any issues. These particular designs are always better and safer with four smaller engines, but they don't go to the trouble of getting engine builders to design such suitable engines because that would significantly lower their profit margin. What begins first? Chicken or the egg? Airframe aerodynamics or the engines? Answer is not that simple. Or the answer can be simple if you factor in the aviation business's need to increase the profit margin whereever possible. In such scenario, math indicates(to them) the loss of lives and possible compensation they would end up paying does not outweigh the profits they can make by cutting corners. So, they chose to cut corners and make more money and end up paying far less than they need to when shyte hit the fan. Regulatory bodies are there to ensure the companies will thrive The few hundred lives that are lost aren't anywhere as important as the continuous expansion of a large corporation. Companies like Boeing were built by bigots who had their tentacles firmly embedded in politics.

@Dutch van der Linde Please calm down a bit. You should look at the FAA too which actually approved the aircraft for flying. About your point with the larger engines the arkward position was need to actually have enough ground clearing for the engines. Also they didn´t cut corners, they were trying to keep up with Airbus who where releasing the A320neo line with more efficient engines. To have something that compared to it Boeing fitted similar engines to their 737MAX which the 60 year old design simply couldn´t handle. During the redesign they settled on the arkward position to have enough ground clearance which had the side effect of the aircraft pitching up a bit during flight. In a rush they developed MCAS which seemed like a solution at first. The FAA approved even the new system because they didn`t find any flaws. They approved a faulty system thus a faulty aircraft. It was only the two crashes that revealed the lapsed checking of the FAA.

As an inspector at a machine shop I would say that the max incident was not a wake up call, but the tip of the iceberg. Metrology is not just about studying measuring tools, but also psychology with regards to the people that use the tools. When you streamline a process, it is the fact that 1 out of 20 people actually want to see and/or cause a crash that gets left out of the equation.

I watched that too and also the episode from 60 minutes australia about the same topic. Pretty bizarre how they did'nt ground the 737 max after the first crash and they knew mcas could cause disaster. Family members of those who died even suggested them to ground the planes but all they thought about was making profit and they didnt really seem to care about safety. They even tried to blame the pilots while it was a software issue and they didnt even inform the pilots about the new system nor did they feel the need to train them. With the second crash, the pilots were aware of the system and disabled it but still it reconnected and took the plane down and nothing they could do. As you could see in the flight simulators the system would have a mind of its own. Must have been terrifying for the pilots , flight crew and all the passengers that died in both crashes. Can't even imagine how their last moments must have been like on both occassions. It's infuriating to learn that both disasters and all deaths could have been avoided. RIP to all victims and strenght to all family and friends that lost their loved ones on both crashes. 346 lives lost....

@Mrs X actually no Engineers at Boeing wanted more time and money to create the MAX to invest more into fixing the MCAS before it's Certification during 2013 but everytime they where either shut up or threatened by the Hegheir Ups of Boeing if they had just let the Engineers do the damn job all of this would not have happened plus the Engineers at Boeing's Puget Sound Plant were moved to Renton because they were "spending too much" according to a Boeing Whistleblower Engineer at Puget Sound and the MCAS to save cost was made by a 3rd Party Manafacturer from India to get great deals with Indian Investors once the Max came out have some Sympathy for the Engineers of the MAX the plane never had a pitch up issue and if it did it would only be slight the MAX without MCAS is safe but it was added to make the MAX handle similarly to the 737NG to once again "save costs" I think we can see a pattern in the MAX disaster they Cut way too many Corners and they loose $9,000,000,000 in the Process

Civil aircraft should always be designed to fail stable. Meaning that, if systems fail or control is lost, the aircraft should fly stable naturally, all on its own. It should roll stable or pitch stable with no input and glide at a safe angle with no power. This can only be BUILT into the plane and can NEVER be relied on in software. Mechanical failsafes are more reliable than electronic ones!

I believe this excellent documentary failed to mention one big contributor to these accidents. The MCAS system is (or was) connected to just one of the two Pitot tubes that tell the pilot and the computers the airspeed of the plane. This is important for at least three reasons: first, these tubes are a critical system that is known to have caused many crashes in the past. Second, it creates a false sense of security by keeping the possible failure of a critical system from the attention of the pilots. And third, it shows how a disastrous change in paradigms of plane construction is behind this whole scandal.

When redundancy is no longer considered important during the design of airplanes, the MCAS system failure is just one of a gazillion disasters waiting to happen.

I worked for a regional Airline as a programmer. I worked with the maintenance department. I was shocked at what they told me about corners that were being cut. They said don't you know the FAA regulators are regulated by the airlines? !!! 😮

@Kiwi the salespeople are the ones who order the engineers what to do. Engineers can't fix problems unless their boss tells them too and and if they go against ehat the boss says......they get fired. Plain and simple. Why would anyone realistically go against what their boss says only to lose their entire lifestyle. Even if they went against the salesperson some other more obedient engineer would have replaced them.

@Emil .S good quetion. Seems the answer is "yes" - because the A320 neo was designed to be inherently stable - it was designed from the ground up. To compete , boeing over-modifieid a 50 year old design in a way this is not naturally stable. Nowadays, when booking flights, I check if the aircraft is a 737max, and if so, keep shopping for an alternative flight.

This is so overblown because there is a simple on-off switch for the trim on the center console visible to everyone. By turning that switch off the automatic trim system is disconnected and the pilot simply trims manually. That would terminate the automatic trim. That is the end of the problem and flight continues safely to destination for repairs.

Wow Boeing. They cut corners. They knew the MCAS would activate because of the nose up but I don’t think they anticipated this type of behavior but then again, absolutely NO ONE knew about it. This is unacceptable and someone needs to be held accountable.

I like this documentary because it highlights something that got little attention here in the US. The relationship between Boeing and the FAA. It highlights not only issues between Boeing and the FAA, but the negligence of the FAA on other important matters as well. Had they been included in the process, the EASA may just as well have prevented these two crashes. In the future, the EASA should be included as an independent entity and certify future planes as they come to market.

6:26 That was no different to the 737 rudder hard over problem that caused several crashes. Boeing knew about it and didn't want to spend $100 Million fixing the problem. As I mention in another comment, Airbus is as bad as Boeing. A simple "linking' of the sidestick would have saved AF447. of course if Air France employed pilots instead of seat warmers that might have helped too. Basic stall recovery was taught in the forth or fifth lesson when gaining a pilot's licence and is something that one doesn't forget even after 40 years.

You know this isint the first time Boeing has had problems with 737s. Some years ago they had 2 planes that were on approach bank hard to one direction and killed everyone on board. They sent the rudder back to boeing both times they said it's fine it's not our issue. I believe they were among the few NTSB reports that couldn't say what happened. Once again a 3rd plane on approach banked hard in one direction. However he was high enough that he had time to realize that his rudder was moving in the opposite direction Still they doubled down it wasnt until the fda grounded them did they come back and say yeah that is happening my bad but yeah we fixed it our apologies. Ridiculous.

It can be see very clearly that the FAA doesn’t do its job and it has a bunch of lazy people or a bunch of not properly qualified profesionales.

Reading that email around the 35 minute mark was so similar to a construction company I recently quit working for, who had recently hired a former Boeing employee. We were building a multi-million dollar house in which I was the project superintendent, very complex, he had NO experience in this industry (I have 40 years), yet he was always pushing unrealistic schedules, disagreeing with things that I said, and hiring subs that didn't know what they were doing. I couldn't stand it! I often wondered what part of this Boeing debacle, if any, he played.

In the ethiopian crash they managed to cut off the electric trim wheel switches which disabled the MCAS nose down trim inputs, but were unable to manually adjust the horizontal stabiliser due to the high airspeed and aerodynamic forces on the horizontal stabiliser (due to leaving autothrust on climb power). So they switched the electric trim switches which reconnected MCAS causing further nose down trim which caused it to descend at high speed into terrain.

@Brian Leighton actually what i'm saying is that Boeing already confirmed that they now have redesigned MCAS to only trigger once during flight, when actually it was supposed to trigger every 10 seconds and off for 5 seconds and trigger again on and off, on and off again, like it happened during Lion Air and Ethiopian Air flights. Pilots were battling with the airfact that has a "mind" of their own. I've seen a lot of videos on this MAX 737 issues and i'm pretty confident to not to step onboard EVER.

I should add that with the knowledge of the changed angle of attack, a pilot can fly the Max without the MCAS in all stages of flight. The problem is that Boeing neither told the pilots about the system or the change to climb rates. You said earlier that MCAS was only supposed to trigger once, and in both instances the automatic sensor DID only trigger once. However, if the pilot pulled the nose up too high, MCAS would kick in to prevent a stall. A pilot who does not know this will trigger MCAS on accident pulling out of the MCAS fault. This is exactly what happened to Lion Air, the data was tragic. Because as a pilot, I know that without that knowledge, I would probably have reacted the same way as the pilot flying did. The first fault that triggered was an automatic one. Each successive one on the way down was triggered manually by the control column being pulled too far back.
Edit: I should add they were pulled back well within the parameters of the Neo specs.

it's pretty clear,in the past aircraft had to have back up systems such as 3 gyros etc and if one went faulty the other 2 could still fly the plane to nearest airfield,but it seems to me the stabilty control on the 737 used just one sensor and it was incredibly hard to switch off or override in an fault or emergency situation

I recall there was a crash a few years ago that a flight system control unit will prevent the pilot from pulling up if it was activated. Two or three planes were crashed most likely as a result of this.

When I flew with my parents when young, my father would have us all hold hand during takeoff and when the plane got to the V! point he'd say "point of no return". Gee, thanks, dad you make me feel so secure. LOL

They don´t really invest much in looking at their airplanes prior to flight. They just make quick checks, not a very nuanced one which would be neccesary.

The initial reports by the media claimed that a sensor malfunction had caused the crashes. (specifically a speed sensor) If that is true it is absolutely criminal. On top of all the other design problems no competent design engineer would accept the use of only one sensor in a critical control system. There are always multiple redundances of sensors.

When I asked him if he wanted to fly the 737 his words were, 'I don't want anything to do with no 737. If the fines/payouts are a (relatively) small cost, that’s just “operating cost”, this is insane. You cannot put a price on a human life imo. Unless they’re hit hard enough where it counts (in their pocketbooks), they’ll continue to operate like this and like many other businesses do in America. They’re still going to profit despite shoddy engineering and suppliers and all that matters is the board of directors see bigger paychecks. From what i understand, the 737 max has unstable flight characteristics compared to the rest of the 737 family due to the change in its engine position which actually changes the center of gravity. MCAS was implemented to actively move the control surfaces to negate this issue. The fact that the pilots and the customers were not informed is absolutely criminal and boring deserves every bit of what they are getting.

The problem of the Max is that it copied the automation concept from Airbus. Both manufacturers are wrong and they now MUST make ensure that EVERY pilot fully understands all features and the SOFTWARE.

Yet, the guy left the company with MILLIONS (I believe around 80!) in compensation! I truly feel for all that lost loved ones in those accidents. I would think something like this is a collective failure of the industry and the society. The MCAS technology is not a secret after the first crash of Lion Air. Nobody protested enough and voiced strong concerns in the five months after the crash. That is sadder.

The aviation safety expert at 11:04 is wrong that the max needs mcas to fly. It was introduced so pilots of other 737 planes can fly it without additional training as it would feel the same. It can fly without mcas but would feel different to other 737s. Real pilots have said this.

They put engines too big on the 737 rather than raise the landing gear height they extended the Pylons holding them. This caused the centre of gravity to move forward VITAL to balance the aircraft and for Elevator control. To combat it they programmed the software to keep a constant nose up attitude when it failed the 737 did exactly what it was designed to do go nose down and fly into the ground. Which they tried to hide by not informing pilots about when the software failed they had no idea what was happening.

The first main problem with the Boeing aircraft is that they trim the stabilizer with a jack screw
which when disabled by the crew does not return to the neutral position so that the misstrim remains until the crew mechanically readjusts the misstrim, this takes time. The second problem is that the Stabilizer has a much larger surface area than the Elevator which is controlled by the pilot. A miserable conceptional idea. (See L1011 Tristar system).

You know what is crazy is the fact that no one is going to jail over this. It's become pretty clear that the Boeing 737 crashed because of the onboard program that Boeing rushed out, without informing pilots in order to make money. The reason that the computer systems were put on there without notification to pilots was so that Boeing could fulfill its promise to airline companies that they wouldn't have to spend exorbitant sums retraining pilots. While we can't know for certain, it's pretty likely that, had the pilots been properly trained in the new aircraft and systems, that these crashes would not have happened. Instead, due to corporate greed, hundreds of innocent people died.

Imagine if any of us were speeding down the inter-state to meet a delivery deadline, lost control and hit a van full of people, killing a bunch of them. We'd almost certainly be hauled before a criminal court and quite possible spend years in prison (as we should). It would be considered an unforgivable crime, to be speeding down the road and kill so many people just to get a nice payout. Yet none of these top executives or the others involved in this cost-cutting/marketing ploy are facing even a hint of prosecution.

I can only say after watching 60 minutes on Ethiopian flight 302 and Lion Air flight 610, How can such a tragedy be prevented, shall Boeing have not cut corners and informed its customers of their software MCAS letting the Pilots have a clear idea what to expect and how to override or shut down its function abilities. I’m glad that the limelight is shining on this corporation , it just shows how greed can play a significant role on personal gains to compromise safety just to keep up with the competition, despite their 737 Max aircraft being tarnished for it’s 1 sensor malfunction MCAS software system and the people’s lives who died in vain, they are redeeming the issue fixed and stating the grounded aircrafts is going to be certified to fly again. I will be terrified to step into a 737 Max. It’s ironic that the Boeing 737 Max flight crashes are of airlines of other countries, Shall the tragedy be a USA airline company, Boeing executives will be heavily investigated. I am not sure if the FAA has greedy officials to overlook this design flaw and be paid to certify the 737 Max worthy to fly. How many lives does it take for you greedy executives and officials to have a conscience?

On 3/21/22, number 3 flew into the ground killing everyone on board. A Chinese 737 was caught on camera doing a vertical nosedive into the side of a mountain not long after the fleet was re-activated after being grounded for a couple of years. Not looking too good for Boeing.

Turning off the MCAS once you're in a steep nose down position at low altitude won't do you much good. You likely wouldn't be able to trim fast enough to keep from crashing. It's like advising someone driving a car to turn off their power steering if they're losing control.

The root cause of this is at 13:40. Boeing, rather than highlighting this significant change to the aircrafts flight dynamics, deliberately downplayed it with the FAA and hid it entirely from the airlines and pilots all because they didn't want the pilots to require the additional training (making the max more expensive to deploy than the A320 NEO). The results were 100% predictable.

The $9/hr contract Indian software engineers did not make bad software, they built the software to requirements. The difference is that Boeing employees would have had amore vested interest in what this software was actually for and they may have been more likely to speak candidly to regulators about the implications of this software.

If one person killed another person, it’s murder. If a big company with lots of lawyers wilfully man slaughtered hundreds of people, it’s due to regulations and legal BS.

@Hakapik in the netfilix boeing documentary their are boeing documents stating that if an mcas failure happened the pilot has exactly 10 seconds to fix the plane before it WILL crash. Boeing knew this was the case but offered no simulator training for something that could kill you in just 19 seconds. If that isn't murder then at the very least it's criminally negligent murder.

That’s fucking brilliant . Yeah screw the mcas system .. the only reason we even know it exists is because it killed over 300 people in a very short timeframe .. I won’t be boarding any 737 MAX in my lifetime .

The pilots could have put on 5% flaps. This doesn’t change the flight characteristics, but it does disable the MCAS system

The sad thing about it is that we all know very well that those executives and managers who ignored safety protocols will do just fine while many workers who had no other choice but to comply with those ridiculous orders will be fired. Not saying all workers are innocent or all managers are evil though.

39:37 comparing the exhaust gas scandal with the negligence of airplane manufacturers is rather far-fetched. Seems what this video is saying is that it is difficult to point to someone who is actually responsible. That it is a chain of unfortunate circumstances. No. That is surely not acceptable for all these victims.

It’s just scary that they completely depended on the software system. As a software development professional for many years and have seen a lot of realities in the industry, I would never allow software to 100% completely run high-risk machines such as cars or planes where a lot of people’s lives are on the line. There should always be an easy override mechanism for human intervention. Also, a physical design flaw in a machine cannot be fixed through software compensation, that is just a hack job. It sucks because I work in the software engineering industry, but I would never completely trust software with my life ever, as even highly trained AI makes errors.
