Rock an' Roll Girls
John Fogerty Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Sometimes I think life is just a rodeo,
The trick is to ride and make it to the bell.
But there is a place, sweet as you will ever know,
In music and love, and things you never tell.
You see it in their face, secrets on the telephone,
A time out of time, for you and no one else.

Hey let's go all over the world,
Rock and roll girls, rock and roll girls.

If I had my way, I'd shuffle off to Buffalo;
Sit by the lake, and watch the world go by.
Ladies in the sun, listenin' to the radio,
Like flowers on the sand, the rainbow in my mind.

Hey lets go all over the world,
Rock and roll girls, rock and roll girls.

Hey lets go all over the world,
Rock and roll girls, rock and roll girls.

Hey lets go all over the world,
Rock and roll girls, rock and roll girls.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to John Fogerty's "Rock and Roll Girls" are an expression of the beauty and freedom that can be found in music and love. Fogerty compares life to a rodeo, a wild and unpredictable ride where the key is to hold on and make it to the end. However, there is a place, a sweet spot where one can find respite from the chaos - in music and love, and in things that are unsaid. The connection between people who share this place is deep, and they can see it in each other's faces and feel it in their conversations.

The chorus of the song is a call to action, an invitation to join in on the adventure of life. "Let's go all over the world, rock and roll girls" - this is a declaration of the joy and excitement that can be found in traveling the world with good friends and great music. Fogerty sings about his dream to go to Buffalo and watch the world go by, surrounded by the beauty of nature and the company of others who share his love for music.

Overall, "Rock and Roll Girls" is a celebration of the human spirit and the power of music and love to bring people together. It is a reminder that no matter how hard life can be, there is always a place of refuge where we can find peace and happiness.

I believe John Fogerty is the only artist to have won a Grammy in the 60's,70's,80's and 90's. Real talent.

@drewmansager3377

True??

@willyjames8300

@Bryant Sayers You know Bryant I heard that one time. I just did some research and it was hard to verify. The one thing you have to remember is they give Grammy's out for everything. Production,writing,best this best that. One thing I do know is has had a Remarkable career which has now spanned almost 60 years. If I find out something more I'll write back.
