Music label. Prior to the release of his debut album Get Lifted in 2004, Legend's career gained momentum through a series of successful collaborations with multiple established artists such as Jay-Z, Alicia Keys and Lauryn Hill. He released his second album, Once Again in 2006, and his latest release, 2008's Evolver showcased a more experimental and upbeat side of Legend. Neo-soul singer and pianist John Legend combined the raw fervor of contemporaries Cody ChesnuTT and the burning precision of D'Angelo. Born John Stephens, Legend was a child prodigy who grew up in Ohio, where he began singing gospel and playing piano at the tender age of five. Legend left Ohio at 16 to attend college in Philadelphia, and it was there that he first found a larger audience. My boyfriend love this song! I went to visit him during vacation In December. He would leave me at home all day with this song playing. I hated it that he always telling that he was busy at the office and kept coming home late. One night I visited the office and saw the workload he had. I felt really sad. +jo dallas I lost my husband to cancer, and am now taking care of my 83 year old mother with alzheimer's... this song brought me to tears the very first time I heard it. I don't want to be sad, but I've played it over and over to memorize the words... because I don't want to forget just how precious life is and it can indeed be gone in the blink of an eye. I am thankful everyday I still have my mother, even in her ill health. This song helps me to remember to love all the people I love like I'm gonna lose them, and hold them like I'm saying goodbye. I know if I do that, I'll never regret it when they are gone.
