Saw him live at Sticky Mike's Frog Bar in Brighton UK last night, Coloured balloons was a stunning highlight for me. See him live if you can, there is an honest humble, emotional intensity to this guy when he performs. Literate, intelligent and poetic lyrics delvered with power and fragility.

Just saw him on Australian TV, so I thought I would check him out.
He restores my faith in music, you just have to wade your way through the Biebers of this world, but if you look hard enough you will find it.
Thank God for independent music.

Great synopsis. Saw him in Belfast yesterday, amazing. "I searched the skyline in vain for one goddamn star". If you can't empathise with that sentiment and be moved when it is delivered then the game's up

John reminds me of Willy Vlautin of Richmond Fontaine.. who's songs evoke imagery of Reno, Nevada Portland, Oregon and the west in general. Great and creative artist ! ✌️
